"That's actually a good question Nina, what does my granddad have to do with this? Hell, why didn't he come here himself instead of you two?" Jacob asked.
Sylvia and Tanya looked at each other for a moment as if deciding on who would answer him before they looked like they decided Sylvia would answer for them.
"Okay so, the afterlife is....complicated to explain to living beings. But let's say that those who have unfinished business with Ezekiel Kane is a long line. Every spirit that was gathered had dealt with Kane in one way or another. After a long discussion, it was finally decided that my daughter and I would come to the mortal plane, inhabit two bodies, and only two bodies without swapping." Sylvia said glaring at Tanya who shrugged with an innocent face.
"Afterwards we get help in finally dealing with Ezekiel Kane for good. Because we cannot let this man go around committing heinous acts against the supernatural or the living...." Sylvia said as her eyes started to glow and she started to float up off the ground.
"Uh...mom...?" Tanya tried to say.
"All I wanted was to raise my daughter in the world and let her live a normal life with friends and family, but no, he took it all away from her, from us. Once we have Kane in our grasps again, I'll show him what true fear is!" Sylvia exclaimed.
"MOM!" Tanya said grabbing Syliva's hand as she snapped out of her phase and floated back down to the ground.
The group looked confused and a little frightened.
"So...yeah, being a ghost and witch also gives you powers while you possess a body." Tanya clarified.
"Excuse me, but the question was about Malcolm Moreland. How do you two know him?" Jacob reminded Tanya.
"Right. So, out of everyone there who knew Ezekiel Kane, Malcolm Moreland and his son, Victor." Tanya explained.
"My dad?" Jacob asked surprised.
"Yeah, not everyone knows this, but ghosts or spirits watch out for their families from the afterlife all the time. Hell, some of you remind me of some people I met from the other side. But Malcolm and Victor told us to come to your house as we would find the most help here, because as your dad told us to tell you: 'Accept the right help, or help yourself to the shitter'." Tanya said trying to mimic the Moreland's country accent.
"Yeah, that's something dad used to tell me." Jacob said chuckling.
"Wait, our relatives from beyond are watching out for us?" Miranda asked.
"Oh yeah. In fact, you're more likely to see spirits between October and November because that's when the realm between the living and the dead are the thinnest." Tanya explained.
"So our abuela (grandma) can see us?" Miranda asked.
"Sure, and in dire times, they'll come to any of your aids, all you have to do is call out to them." Tanya told them.
