"So does anyone have any ideas," Miranda asked. Nat and the others shrugged, honestly no one knew how exactly to deal with a psychotic demon hunter.
The introduction to Sylvia and Tanya had taken the teens by surprise. Couple that with a murderous hunter found everyone a little on edge. Kane, at least from they had gathered, had no love for magic users, the supernatural, or their family and friends. For this reason the teens now realized that when they finally ran into him none of them would be safe.
"Well what about your brother Connor," Rei asked. "Is he going to help us out with this?"
"He wants too," Connor stated. "But my folks want him to focus on college. He's the first one in the family to actually go to college."
"Yeah Jacob and Nina said they can handle it," Spark added. "They want Caleb to succeed and earn a degree even if he is technically the hunter in the family. Chances are we won't see him til Thanksgiving and then Christmas break."
"So we just have to survive for a few weeks," Miles said sarcastically. "Oh awesome I'm sure this dude Kane will just let us chill until then."
"Dont know why you're all caught up in your feelings," Amara grumbled. "Kane probably wouldn't even bother with you. In case you didn't notice me, Spark, and Nat are the supernatural beings in this motley crew."
"So what you think I want to watch you guys die," Miles exclaimed angrily. "You're Miranda's girlfriend for Christ sake. You think I want to see her heartbreak?" Amara paused, blushing in embarrassment before offering a meek apology. Being human may have put them lower of Ezekiel Kanes hit list but it didn't mean they weren't scared for their friends.
As the teens continued to talk, Mary Elise now entered the study hall. The young teacher hadn't heard any info yet about Ezekiel Kane but she could already tell something was bothering her students. "Is everything okay," she asked. "All of you look like your dog died."
"We got alot on our mind Ms. McKinnon," Nat sighed.
"Well," Mary Elise stated. "Why don't you tell me what's bothering you. Maybe I can help." As the teens now shared their concerns with the young teacher. Mary Elise's eyes going wide as she now learned of Ezekiel Kane, Sylvia, and Tanya.
"So there's actually ghosts," Mary Elise stated. "And they've told you that an insane demon hunter is heading this way to kill anything thats supernatural or magical?"
"Pretty much," Miranda shrugged. Mary Elise sighed, years of education hadn't prepared her to deal with ghosts or serial killers. Taking a breath, Mary Elise now looked over her students.
"Okay," she stated. "We need to prepare ourselves accordingly. Watch for eachother, help keep eachother safe." Mary Elise now looked first to Nat, Rei, and Miranda. "I'm going to help in your magic training. I know quite a bit about the ring. Maybe I can help you control your powers a little better."
"Thanks Ms. McKinnon."
"I think the second thing we need to do is figure out how many supernatural entities are living in this town," Mary Elise said. "I have a feeling the shade wasn't the only supernatural thing in this town."
"Hold up you think their are others?"
"It makes sense Miles," Mary Elise stated. "The vampires, the shade, Amara. I don't think its a coincidence. What do you think Amara?"
"Okay it does make sense," Amara said softly. "I mean I'm not exactly a social butterfly but I'm sure their are others that heard the same things i did."
"Connor, Spark, do you think you can check that out?"
"Yeah teach," Spark smirked. "We got you."
"Okay," Nat said. "We'll train with Ms. McKinnon while you guys search the town. Just be careful everyone. Who knows when Ezekiel Kane will show up."
