Finn, Feeling Depressed, Makes a Rash Decision

added by anightbore 10 months ago O Mental

Finn thought more about Jeff. The idea of unintended consequences bounced around in his brain. But he also thought about what Jeff had mentioned, specifically that he made other changes that were "nothing you wouldn't like," as he put it. His shoulders dropped a little bit. That means Jeff had changed Finn, most definitely. And the way he teased Finn so sexually and flirtatiously and...

Damn. Jeff made Finn attracted to him. He seemed to remember something like that on Jeff's computer last night. And him being in the closet was part of that, too.

Finn shook his head. This was getting confusing. His head was spinning a little. He stared at Jeff from the bleachers. A small little thought crept into his head, one that he didn't like. If he was more confident, he could shake it off or snip it in the bud before it grew too much. But Finn wasn't. He blinked and swallowed. If Finn made it so Jeff was dating someone else on the team, would Jeff notice or care? Would he forget all about the lithe fox? Finn's heart ached. But he had to know. If Jeff remembered, then they would date openly, just like he wanted. If he didn't, then Finn could walk away and not have to worry about coming out. But was that something Finn wanted? He was very much into Jeff. If his heart couldn't handle it, he could just change it back. No harm done, right?

He wiped his eyes. When had they started tearing up? He lifted his phone and took a deep breath. He started to type.

Suddenly, a shadow loomed over him. He looked up and was surprised to see Jeff looking down at him with a worried expression. Finn couldn't say anything. It was almost as if Jeff knew what Finn was about to do. Finn shut his eyes and turned away.

"Finn," Jeff said, kneeling in front of Finn. "Are you okay?"

"What are you doing?" Finn whimpered.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" Jeff asked.

"Coming here to tease me about not being out?" Finn suggested, still not looking at Jeff.

"Finn, I'm serious," Jeff sternly said. "I looked over at you and saw that you were crying."

"I wasn't crying!" Finn angrily spat. It was true, but he had come real close.

"Fine, you weren't crying," Jeff huffed. "But you look like you're about to. What gives?"

"Don't you have somewhere more important to be?" Finn asked, trying to change the subject.

"Not when I see you like this," Jeff argued. "I really do want to date you, not just to simply make you squirm beneath me." He pressed his hand into Finn's. Finn tried to wrestle his arm away but couldn't. The tiger was too strong. "I do care about you, you know?"

"And because of the Chronivac, I care about you, right?" Finn snapped bitterly. Jeff almost flinched. "Don't play dumb. I saw what you wrote about me when you had the Chronivac."

"I..." Jeff's big shoulders drooped. "I see. I'm sorry. " Finn glared and began typing on his phone. "Wait... what are you–?"

"You want a boyfriend? Fine, have fun," Finn said, angry tears running down his face now. "Don't worry. You won't care about me anymore. To you, I won't even exist." He pressed Submit before Jeff could do anything.

"No!" Jeff yelped. He grabbed Finn. "Please, don't. I don't want that."

"It's already done," Finn said, crying. "Goodbye, Jeff."

"No," Jeff moaned, feeling his head get a little foggy. "I want you. On some level, I think I always have."

"Just another unintended consequence," Finn said dismissively. "Just go."

"No," Jeff insisted. He felt the fog in his mind pushing him further. "No, I won't forget you. I refuse. I care about you because I wanted to, damn it." He cupped his head behind the fox's head. "F-Finn, please. I. Want. You."

"Not for long," Finn said. The big tiger began tearing up as well and hugged Finn tightly. He was trembling, like he was struggling to fight a losing battle with an all-powerful, magical, reality-altering device.

"I don't want to forget," Jeff whimpered. "Don't make me forget."

Finn shut his eyes, allowing his own tears to sink into Jeff's fur. He just simply waited for Jeff to succumb, to forget, to let go. It would be better that way anyway.
