Satisfied with Dean´s changes for now, Mark turned toward Theo. Theo still sat right next to Dean, not bothered by his mostly naked friend. It wasn´t as if that was unique, as Rick also runs around in just his underwear. Only, he did so everywhere, while Dean wore his clothes at least outside.
Grinning at Theo, Mark started with his first question: “Theo, is it right that you like to sing?”
Theo looked over at Mark´s question, blushing. “Everyone who hears me sing says I sound good, but I don´t like sing…”
Mark stomped, as he wouldn´t want Theo to admit that he didn´t like singing or something like that. To fill the just ripped hole, he stated: “No, Theo, you love singing. That´s why even when talking normally, you sound melodic, as if you were singing even then. You are always chirpy. But when you aren´t talking, you purse your lips like you want to imitate a beak, right?”
Theo grinned a bit dumbly at that, before responding with: “Yeah, I love~ singing.” It really sounded as if Theo had just sung that sentence out of a playing song. His grin then twisted a bit, as he pursed his lips forward, creating the image of a beak. It looked hilarious, but Mark kept his laughing down. He hadn´t too much time before he guessed that Luke would return here, and he wanted to be finished with Theo before then.
So, he had a wide grin on his face as he decided on his second change for Theo. “Theo, the other´s meant you were so energetic. How does that show with you?”
Theo leaned his head sidewards a bit, showing he was thinking of an answer for Mark. “I guess they~ mean I cavort~ wildly, then. But I would~ say I´m just jum…”
Mark stopped Theo with another stomp, wanting a specific way of him to show his energy. “You just have an easy, bouncy step normally, right? As if you would lift of the ground and fly, right? And your arms are also moving with each step, swaying like wings do for a bird, right? And if you are standing or sitting still, your arms tend to fold behind your back, so they aren´t in the way.”
Theo nodded at the newly implanted behavior, happily agreeing with Mark´s explanation. His arms, sitting on his legs before, nearly hit Dean as they swung back behind him, resting on his back. “Yeah~ I´m bouncy~ when I move~ around.” As if to show he was still too energetic, however, his whole body swayed back and forth on the bed.
Dean shook his head slowly at him. “Stop being so squirrelly, Theo. Your fidgeting is disturbing me relaxing.” He said in a slow tone.
Theo laughed at him. “I´m just excited~. You are too calm~ for me to be~ as well~.” But he tried to be a bit less annoying towards his friend.
Mark smiled at them. With his changes, they were somewhat opposites in that area. One slow and calm, the other bouncy and energetic. But he wanted to finish Theo now. “Say, Theo, Chris showed me some of his classmate´s handwriting, and yours was nearly as bad as his. How is that?”
Theo, for his part, looked offended at that. “You can´t compare~ Chris´s scrawl with the writing~ of anyone else~, beside maybe Justin~. I can´t even read~ what they write down~. My handwriting~ is really good~. At least I~ can ho…”
With an evil grin, Mark stomped at that. The whole question had been a lie, he had never seen their handwriting, and he knew that their actual scrawl couldn´t be compared to anyone using their hands normally. But that was exactly what he wanted to change with Theo now. “Really? I thought you had similar problems, seeing as your hands are useless to hold a pen. You always hold all fingers together and can´t bend them, right? Just as if they were wings, you can only beat your hole hand and arm, but not grip anything, right?”
As Theo nodded to that, accepting it inside his head as true. Why was he offended by Mark comparing his handwriting with that of Chris? They both wrote nearly unreadable. Without a thought his fingers clicked together behind his back, the tips of his fingers just touching each other. “Sorry~ Mark, I don´t~ know why I complained~ about that, you are right~.”
“You just like being loud, Theo” commented Dean slowly, smiling at him. Theo huffed at that, but didn´t comment that himself.
Mark, now satisfied with the changes, made his reset command for Theo now. “Theo, whenever I say “Reset to bird” to you, you will return to your current mindset.” He had said it far too quiet for Theo to hear, but it took effect anyway. Then, looking at the chronivac, Mark added a last small change to the trigger before saving it.
Name: Theodore (Theo) Brown
“Reset to bird” – Theo returns back into bird-mode
Ignorant to changes of Chris, Justin, Rick and Dean
Bouncy steps, swaying arms while walking
Won´t fall because of his bouncy steps
Arms folded behind back when standing or sitting still
Melodic singing, even normal talking sounds like singing
Always chirpy
Pursing lips when not talking, imitating a beak
Fingers all keep together, like wings
Can´t bend fingers, only beat whole hand or arm
Unable to grip anything
Won´t get hoarse from singing
Satisfied with their progress, Mark sends them back to the others. “I have kept you long enough, I guess the others wait for you downstairs. Have some fun.”
Both Theo and Dean looked at him, nodding, before standing up. Only for Dean to tip forward, nearly crashing onto his chest and stomach, barely stopping it with his hands. After breaking his fall, Dean positioned his limbs sidewards and moved out of the room slowly, following Theo, who had already left jumping around. It wouldn´t be wrong to fear him falling down some stairs with his bouncy steps, but Mark was sure his input in the trigger would keep Theo safe.
