Not being the Sorceress Supreme anymore really sucked.
*Really* sucked.
Regina Chung had lost like 95% of her magical powers after the incident with Aziza, and she had felt it, boy oh boy.
The Duumvirate of Enlil and Innanna(Which Regina had sometimes affectionately called the God Squad,
a name that Aziza had found to be a little too insolent) had stripped Regina of her title after the incident.
Not that Regina blamed the brother and sister gods exactly. She and Aziza had both acted massively irresponsibly and had caused a lot of damage.
But taking away over 95% of her powers with a snap of their fingers had been a real ego blow.
Just like that, she was back to being practically normal again.
Oh, she could still do parlor tricks. Making things float around with her mind, opening doors by themselves, that sort of thing. Her days of near invincibility though were over.
What's more, Regina's poor decision to become infected by the immortality granting virus from "Lesbian Land"(Without even consulting her partner, no less) had made her a pariah and forced her into exile. She was simply too dangerous to be allowed to exist in her home dimension.
Now here Regina was in Lesbian Land one month later, in a tiny shitty apartment, wracking her brain, typing out all of the spells and incantations that she could remember onto her thrift store laptop, because she'd be damned if she was going to stop studying magic.
Not just because of the neat powers it granted her, but because the scientist in Regina thought the idea of losing knowledge one of the greatest sins imaginable. It was her *responsibility* to preserve as much of it as possible for future generations.
And hey...maybe someday, Regina would remember the exact right spell to get back home with.
