"You know", you said to Rick, "You just called me Molly, right in front of the real Molly."
"I did?" He frowned. "Canīt be. Youīre Lucy, after all. I would never muddle up something easy like this."
"Okay then, never mind."
To be honest, you were only lukewarm about this Brawl. There were other things on your mind, like going back to Phil and telling him about your victory. You also had to unmerge Anniebelle, getting ready for the next leg of the journey ... brawling your rival seemed unavoidable, though.
"Okay, here it goes." After you reached the street in front of the Arena, Rick took his famed treasure and placed it on top of a garden wall. "This Brawl shall decide", he spoke with deep seriousness, gathering a crowd of curious people in the process, "which treasure is the better one! Bone or gold, there can be only one!" He gestured at you, and you put the gold nugget right next to the fossil.
"Look", you said, "you really wanna waste time and energy on this? You could battle Molly right now, you know?"
"Molly will not run away", he responded. "You, you would." How right he was.
You groaned. "Fine ... but letīs make this a quick one, okay? One-on-One." As you said it, an idea formed inside your mind, and an innocent smile formed on your face. "How about Starter-Only?"
At first, Rick seemed not convinced. But as you suggested to use only your respective Starters, he began to ponder. "Hmmm ... Deal!" And with these words, he pulled out his very first BeastCube. "Letīs go, Powerhouse!"
In a flash of light appeared the turtle boy. He, like your very own Starter, had evolved into a teenager-version of himself. He was definitely bigger, buffer, overall manlier than you remembered him. The most notable feature were his slightly elongated, kinda fluffy white ears. Also, he had a tail. Was there a tail before? You could not tell anymore. Your BeastDex called him a Battortle, a fast swimmer and using his ears to maintain balance.
Calling out your own Starter, you announced dramatically: "Go, Annie!" Actually not her full name right now, but oh well ...
Anniebelle appeared, just like Powerhouse, in a flash of light. As you had removed the swimsuit-lens from her BeastCube, her outfit was just her normal attire, the blue and red Dirndl dress. She eyed her opponent up and down. "Hoh, boy? Someone bulged up! In all the right places."
Powerhouse, on the other hand, stared right back at her, surely thinking the same.
Rick stared, too. "Huh? Is that really a Heatdraka?", he asked. "I know her kind from pictures, and she doesnīt look like one!"
"Does she not?" You stepped up to Anniebelle, snatched her skirt and lifted it slightly. "You see? Tail. Burning."
"I ... I see." He also saw her bare thighs. Possibly the stronger argument.
Anniebelle pushed your hand away. "Could you not embarrass me in front of our rivals?"
"Since when do you care", you shot back, but nonetheless let her skirt go.
"He looks not so bad anymore", she responded, smiling at the Barttortle. "You remember our fun times at the lab, right? Me, bullying you all day long ... I wouldnīt mind switching up our game a little."
Your rivals BeastMon shuddered in fear, not convinced in the slightest. Maybe he was still in his girls-are-icky-phase. Boys were slower in that department, as was generally known.
"Enough chit-chat!", declared Rick, raising his hand. "Powerhouse, letīs fight! Letīs brawl for honor! Letīs *drop* her with the power of manly tear-"
"Lightning shock", you said.
Anniebelle snapped her fingers. "Yoh!" A clap of thunder got down, violently, and dropped the Barttortle right where he stood. He fainted in an instant.
