Brad looked at his watch, then at half formed mass of horse flesh that lay moaning and writhing on thebd driveway, and shrugged. Chad's transformation was faster. Or it seemed faster? But then there was only one of him to start, and his mass was reduced significantly. Bruno and Rick were two being fused into one, and their mass was being increased by a few times thrir combined weight. Chad was transformed into inanimate objects, and Rick and Bruno was being transformed into a living breathing animal. Brad shrugged, dribbled Chad, and stsrted making dunk shots on the left side of the court, while the horse flesh occupied the right side of the driveway.
After about three dozen left hook dunks, the horse whinnied and struggled to stand on its four hooved feet. Immediately, Brad dropped the ball, and let it roll into the grass next to the driveway. He walked over to the animal speaking gently and moving slowly. Soon he had calmed the frightened horse, was gently petting its nose, he fed it an apple that he'd stashed in his shorts pockets earlier, and guided up the ramp, and into the horse trailer.
He carefully put the harness over Brick's head fitting the bit in its mouth. He tied the harness to the inside rail. While the horse ate oats and sipped water from the dispensers on the inside wall of the trailer, Brad carefully inspected the naked animal to make sure their transformation was complete. Brad was relieved it was perfect. He had thought about using an animal spell on Chad, but had been concerned it might go awry. Inanimate spells were easier.
Checking out the nether regions, Brad chuckled, "You boys should be thanking me, your manhood is now twice as big as my bro's was."
Then he shut up the trailer, and got in his truck. He started the engine, then turned it off.
He got out of his F150 pickup truck, and walked back to where the basketball ended up. He picked up Chad, and carried him back to his truck. He set Chad in the passenger seat, and buckled the seatbelt in place around the ball. He buckled his own belt and drove to the stables at the park.
"You know, Chad, its too bad your a mindless object now. If you did have a mind, you'd be furious that I turned you into a basketball and your buddies into a horse, and there is nothing you can do about it. Oh, and I can honestly tell the folks that you spent the whole day with me, and I even made sure you wore your seatbelt when we drove to the park."
He flipped on the radio to the oldies station. Depeche Mode sang Master and Servant, while Brad sang along. Why couldn't Brad at least play music Chad liked, thought the strapped ball unhappily.
Brad left Chad strapped in the front seat, and unloaded Brick. He fed the animal a carrot, as he led Brick to the farier shop.
"So this is your new horse Brick? Says you want me to tattoo his lip, and shoe him, and he's boarding here all week?"
"That's right. How long will it take?"
Rick and Bruno were totally focused on each other. Their minds and souls were naked and exposed to each other. Each of their insecurities, secret thoughts, fears and desires were being shared with the other. The memories spun and twisted together. Bruno and Rick were no longer sure which memories were their own anymore. It was terrifying being so totally exposed. Then the spirit of a stallion possessed their new equine body. It was the spirit of Brad's horse that he had ridden for 10 years until it died of old age. Now it lived again in a new body, at least it lived for a while.
Initially, Brad had planned to change them back after the week was up. But now he was tempted to make the situation permanent. Nah, having a horse during school year was too difficult. But he'd have some fun with Brick over the summer.
"Do you have the registration number for the tattoo?"
"Oh, it's in my glove box, I'll get it."
Brad handed the farrier the paperwork, and was told the animal would be ready at noon.
Then the farrier asked, "Sure you don't want me to geld it?"
Brad said, "Tempting, but not now."
The stallion didn't understand. Bruno and Rick were too caught up in the petty grievances their memories bared to pay attention to what was going on around them.
