Starlight looked at the newborn foal in wonder.
"I am the sire of this fine little unicorn? I am so proud!" he said with utter happy amazement.
"Glad you are," smiled Moonglow. "How is yours faring?"
"Still inside my womb, safe and sound. But it is due any day. A little more time. He's a little shy, this Moonlight," his friend simply said.
"Where have you been?"
"Helping a dryad, same as you. Our horns work wonders for those poor creatures. Your lives are not easy, being prey to every lustful male in creation," nodded Starlight to Laurel. "It is true that you are gifted with extreme good looks but that is no excuse for males to behave in such a way. Whether you are in the nude or not, very attractive or not, they should control themselves. You look like you do and that's it. And even if your beauty was an excuse, then at which point is it all right to harass and molest women? At which level of beauty? A which amount of bare skin or pleasant curves can rape and aggression be justified? It cannot be justified, ever, and men shall never agree on which amount of nudity and good looks are valid to abuse a female. And even if they all could agree, the justifications are void. Then a lusty man just has to strip a poor innocent anywhere and then claim he was in his right. I saw your kin take the three babes. And still you have two to raise. At least the satyrs and centaur are honorable enough to take responsibility. The minotaur, I don't know. As for the human, I daresay he probably won't be as willing to help you in his share of the blame."
"Thank you for your kind support," said Laurel. "And what of the poor dryad you gave your succour to?"
"I eased her delivery," said Starlight. "Her name was Lavender and she gave birth to a female centaur, a male satyr and a female faun. Unusual, to deliver so many girls in one go, but there you are. The male faun was odd though, with a bluish fur and a very, very contemplative face and eyes. Hopefully he'll be different from his father. It was the first time Lavender had been cornered by lustful males, though. Two satyrs and a centaur hunting for way to relieve themselves and catching her at her bath, that was harsh."
"I can empathise," sighed Laurel.
"Me too," said Moonglow.
"Yeah," whispered Starlight, digging into the soil with his hoof absent-mindedly. "I'll stay with her and bring her over once she is rested. I am sure she'd like company. And the security we might provide."
"Good idea," said Laurel. "She can tell us her story if she wants to. But I doubt it'll be as strange as ours."
"You never know. Do you think she might be a former human that has been transformed, like us?" said Moonglow.
"I sincerely doubt it. What are the odds? But I wouldn't mind us all resting together, especially as I'll become a mother soon," said Starlight.
"And I'll be a sire too!" exclaimed Moonglow to lighten the atmosphere.
