"Well, if i can come an excuse for why her face is on it, then it should be fine right? I think i have an idea for that..."
Serad approached the Guards of the royal treasury with something wrapped in precious, foreign cloth under his arm,
only stopping when the Guards readied their polearms. "No unauthorized access to the treasury!"
Serad raised the bundle he had been carrying under his arm. "I am transporting a valuable foreign gift for the Queen."
They looked at Serad suspiciously. "There have been no guests in the castle recently,"
But Serad had already prepared for their suspicion. "It has already been here for a long time, but it took a while to confim that the... strangeness of the gift was due to cultural differances, and not intended as an attempt to humiliate her."
The Guards looked at each other and one lowered his weapon. "We will have to inspect the item first."
He approached and took the parcel from Serad, but stopped in surprise after unwrapping a part of it.
"Are you certain this is a gift for the Queen?" The Guard gave Serad an intimidating glare, that made him secretly shudder.
"Yes, reveiving this is apparently considered one of the greatest possible hornors in their country."
Serad was starting to doubt his plan would work, when the Guard's glare finally let up. "Keep an eye on him, i'll bring it inside."
He opened the door, quickly disappearing from Serads sight, who awkwardly stood with the other Guard for a moment,
before taking his leave. He had ensure that the Queen's situation would not be discovered, but started to worry that he would't be able to reach her now, considering how strict the Guards seemed to be.
The Guard walked down a dark hallway, with light shining down in sposts on each side, lighting up pedestals covered in precious items.
Each object here had some sort of immense cultural or financial value, making the Guard doubt that once more that the strange object he was carrying was worth being placed alongside them. But the Queen had decided it was, so he would protect it with his life if necessary.
It took several minutes of before the Guard reached a free spot in the massive treasury, only now unwrapping the object completely.
The thing looked like a naked sculpture of the Queen that had been squeezed into a space far too small for it.
He had to admit that it seemed impressively detailed, but giving something like this seemed more like an insult than anything else.
"Which is most likely why they investigated for so long before adding it to the treasury."
The Guard shook his head. It wasn't his duty to inspect or judge the items in here.
He placed it on the center of the pedestal with the rim down, allowing full view of the contorted body and squashed face,
before noting down where it was and making his way back to his post.
The Vase was left fully exposed and illuminated, ready to be displayed to anyone that entered the royal treasury.
