"Let's make her realize how tough it is to be me," Jennifer said. Every moment she spent under the sun her body was growing hotter, and she had to concentrate to stay fully conscious. "So far she's only gotten what she wanted from the curse, but we can change that now."
"I get it," Kyle said. "Time's up, Liz. You wanted fur, and you're going to get fur. Every bit of fur on your body is going to grow one foot longer. And I do believe your kind of fur is not the best at insulation. Furthermore, I dare you to do whatever Jen or I instruct you to do." Already Kyle could feel the hairs all over Liz's body pushing out underneath his elastic arms holding her captive. "I'm going to let you go now. Stay right here and don't try to run."
Kyle's arms receded back to normal length. The three of them watched Liz's body become obscured by her blooming orange fur. Even the short dusting of fur on her face erupted to make her look quite like Chewbacca. The orange was interspersed with areas of black fur where it had grown from Liz's stripes.
"If you don't already feel the heat, you should any minute now," Jennifer smiled sadistically.
"You know, you wouldn't even have a problem if you just took that heavy top off," Liz scoffed.
"What is with everybody wanting to get me naked today?" Jennifer shouted.
"It's not like we'd be able to see anything with all that wool, you know," Kyle muttered.
"Shut up, it's a matter of principle. Liz, you're going to use Transform or Dare on me and turn me back to the human I was before Kyle called me this morning. And make sure everyone except the three of us thinks I've been human this entire time."
Liz transformed Jen as instructed. Bringing her arm up to her face, Jennifer breathed a sigh of relief as she watched the massive curls of wool get shorter and shorter, finally disappearing into her lightening skin. Her fingers split and reformed into human hands. She felt her ears and nose to find they were returning to normal, and she couldn't find any trace of horns. Finally, the new leash Liz had unwittingly given her retracted into her neck like a roll of measuring tape. The collar embedded into her neck shrank back into her skin as well.
"How you doing?" Kyle asked after a moment.
"Cooler," Jen said. "Liz, go back over there and tell the squad that you've decided to quit the team. And make sure you apologize to them for saying anything mean about me."
With a grimace on her face, Liz turned and walked back to the other cheerleaders, who had decided not to waste any more time and were in the middle of their warm-up routine.
"So, this is it," she said to Kyle. "I got my body back, and you're going to get your life back."
"Just hurry up already," he said.
Jennifer had almost forgotten what a jerk he was. Still, she now knew that he couldn't help it. In just a minute, she would be seeing and talking to the real Kyle Perkins. She wondered what kind of guy he was. Was he charming? Sensitive? Good-looking? Probably, if he was a football star. But if she did change him back, he would end up leaving the school and going off to college and a prosperous football career. Even though she had no idea if she would be really attracted to him once he changed back, Jennifer couldn't help but feel that she might be letting the man of her life slip through her grasp.
"Jennifer? Hello?" Kyle prodded. "Today."
Jennifer had made up her mind. "T...transform or dare," she said meekly.
