It began when I made her clothes disappear

Ready to stand, sort of

added by Emil Borg 9 months ago BM O Aquatic

Malin knew exactly what to wish for first. Ever since Malin was little, she was curious about the surface world. And now, she had means to explore it up close and personal.

Her body brimming with excitement, Malin flicked her emerald tail with joy as she made powerful strides to the surface. Breaking the surface, Malin beelined for a secluded part of the nearby beach and pulled herself ashore. But while she intended to become a human, a thought crossed her mind. With this ring, she could explore land while still remaining a mermaid.

Malin breathed heavily, but with confidence in her voice, she said: “I wish I could walk on land on my tail and be able to breathe air for as long as I like.”

No sooner had she made her wish did she feel the insides of her tail change. She could also feel something changing with her gills. It wasn't painful, but rather pleasant. But less than a minute later, it stopped. Malin sat up and looked at her tail. It looked the same as it did before the wish. But now, she had knowledge about how to "stand" and "walk" with her tail.

Malin was very excited, so she tries to “stand” up. She sits up and as Malin begins to go up, she gains her balance and “stands” up. She looked down at herself, feeling weird about “standing” on her tail. But she soon lost her balance and fell back into the water with a huge splash. Thankfully, she didn't hurt herself. But Malin wasn't ready to give up just yet, so she sat up once more to attempt a second time. This time, she goes up more slowly than the first and soon, she found herself “standing” on her tail again. Malin still felt weird while doing so, but at least this time it went better. But now came the second phase, namely to take her first “step”. Malin shifted her hip slightly to the left and her tail slid out the water and onto the sand. Her fin came out of the water as well, with Malin feeling her tail-fin brushing against the sand. She repeated the process by shifting her hip slightly to the right and her tail slid even further from the water. Then came a third “step”, then a forth and then a fifth. By now, Malin had gotten herself pretty far from the shoreline. It was when she took her tenth “step” that she stopped and made an realization. Malin may be a mermaid, but she wasn't completely ignorant to human behavior. Even from afar, even she haven't missed the fact that humans wear things on their bodies they called clothes. Malin looked down at her body, focusing not on her tail, but on her bare breasts. She cupped her breasts with her hands and said to herself: “I don't want to wear clothes. I never had to before and I see no reason to start now. I wish I didn't have to wear clothes.”

To her surprise, she saw the ring glow for a few seconds and she knew that the wish she made had come true. Malin was relieved. Not because she wanted to remain naked, but because she was afraid she would have to wear something she didn't want to. However, it wasn't long after making the wish when Malin realized something else. She was still a mermaid and that is a problem because she knew that humans thought that merpeople don't exist. Though she had never been to the surface world, Malin understood that people in the surface world were ignorant. Now, though, there was no way to hide the fact that she was a mermaid, unless she wanted to swim away and find a cave somewhere. Or at least, that is how it used to be, but now she had a magical ring that could grant any and all wishes she had. So she said: “I wish that no human will notice that I am a mermaid until I wish otherwise.”

The ring glowed once more, indicating that her wish was granted. Now, Malin was more than ready to explore the human world, but where did she go first?
