Pam blinked rapidly, amazed that the curse must be real - every lie she told suddenly became the truth!
"I... uh... I mean, thank you, officer, I'll follow you there." Pam shifted uncomfortably as another contraction wracked her body. She was ACTUALLY in labor! And pregnant! What was she going to do?
The cop went back to his car quickly, turning on his lights and sirens before pulling out into the road. Pam had no choice but to follow him as he lead her away from home and towards the local hospital. As they arrived, a team ran out the emergency room door with a wheelchair, pulling her door open and helping her to heave her new bulk up and out before gently settling her into the chair.
Pam was still in a slight state of shock "I don't know how this is possible! I can't have a baby!"
"Ma'am, you're going to be fine. You've been preparing for this for almost nine months now." the nurses were used to this late-stage panic in new mothers, and they worked to calm her as they wheeled her into the hospital. "The doctors will take care of you. Do you need us to call anyone? Family? A partner?"
She panicked as another contraction began, blurting out without thinking "No! You don't understand! I CAN'T be pregnant! My uh... my partner is a GIRL! I've never had sex with a man!"
The nurses all immediately halted, one older lady who looked like she'd been around a while lowering her glasses as she reached out with one finger to poke the huge bulge under Pam's shirt. A squeaking noise could be heard, and the veteran whipped the hem of the shirt up to reveal a literal beachball that tumbled off Pam's lap and onto the floor. The compulsive liar was momentarily speechless as everyone, including the officer who had escorted her, lifted their glares from the brightly-colored, bouncing ball to her face.
