Tom listened to his wife in the backyard yelling at his beloved dog Max. He wished she would get a long with him better, but for some reason he had married a non-dog lover. Tom loved his wife still. She was the most beautiful black woman he had ever seen and she for some reason loved him, a nerdy looking, slightly muscular, white boy. But still, he wished Samantha would at least play fetch with Max every once in awhile.
Tom looked at the screen and pondered what the program was even meant to do. He wondered what would it say if he typed in an object name instead of a species into the field.
Tom decided to type 'Tennis Ball' into the field.
Next was a duration field. He selected "Until changed in program"
He went down to the commit changes button and clicked it. And message came up and asked, "Inanimate Object changes are dangerous. Please proceed with caution. Would you like awareness for target? Y/N"
Tom still had no idea what the program would even do so he just typed Y, for awareness and hit enter.
Then, nothing happened. The program brought him back to the main menu with a list of his family members, only difference now was that under Samantha's name was just one field that read "Object: Tennis Ball"
"Well ..." Tom started talking to himself "this is a dumb program..."
Tom got bored and pulled out his cellphone and started browsing online.
A few minutes later he heard the sound of Max running through the house in a playful mood. Tom wondered what happened to his wife who had chased Max outside, but figured she had gone after her cat.
"Come here boy!" Tom called from his office chair. Max was very obedient and loved to listen to his master and came right away.
As Max entered the room, Tom could see he had something in his mouth. "Whatcha got there boy?" Tom asked his pet. Tom reached out his hand "Drop it." Max did has he was commanded and dropped the wet object from his mouth.
Tom looked at the object, it was a black tennis ball that was covered in drool. Tom could tell the ball was fairly unused, probably had been lost under a couch for a while. The black ball had a thin white line around it like any tennis would. The ball had a few teeth mark holes in it already, as Max had a powerful jaw and would many times just squeeze tennis balls so hard they'd just break in two. Tom bounced the wet ball a few times on the ground.
"Wanna play fetch?" Tom asked Max. Max jumped around and barked happily. He really wanted the ball back. Tom brought back his arm and threw the ball out of the room. He could hear the ball bounce several times along the hardwood floors and against a wall at the end of the hall. Max ran after the ball in a fury. He slipped on the floor but was still able to grabbed the black ball in his jaw without issue. He quickly began to squeeze the ball tightly again, making the ball slightly flatter with each bite.
"Be careful Max. You know how easily you destroy those things!" Tom called after his dog. Max ignored him and ran to another part of the house to play with his new favorite toy.
Tom went back to his phone. He was trying to look up this program and how to use it. He had no luck at all.
Tom went back to his computer. He then decided to target....
