It is a well-known fact that Animalians reflect the natures of their animal counterparts in some ways. And that applies to groups of Animalians of the same species instead of just individually. For instance, social animals like wolves and lions tend to build tight communities as Animalians and they're also known to be gossipy hens, though no one would make that comparison in their face. So anything that causes a stir among the wolves or lions was sure to be discussed quite extensively.

"I think it's a find thing for Jeff to be building up his pride," said Blanca, "People take this polygamy thing far too seriously."
"A lot of animals are monogamous," said Candida, "So I guess it might seem strange for why some Animalians choose only one bond-mate and others have multiple."
"Wouldn't it be better if everyone could be polygamous?" asked Blanca.
"But how could you know if you're faithful to anyone?" asked Candida.
Blanca paused at that. "I suppose that would make things too open for cheating and unfaithfulness," she said, "Too many animals have the males mate just once and then leave."
"Fortunately, Julius is completely faithful to his wives," said Candida.
"And he was well-rewarded for it," said Blanca, looking towards the room where their cubs were sleeping in. She could still remember when they were born.
==========
It isn't strictly true that Animalians tend to give birth at the same time. However, it is noted that human women who live together tend to synchronize their periods. There is some suggestion that Animalian females of the same species who happen to get pregnant at around the same time and are in frequent contact do have a tendency to give birth on the same day. This is not a hard and fast rule and there could be plenty of exceptions.
But Blanca and Candida were not those exceptions this day. Both lionesses were rushed to the hospital when their waters broke. Julius was as worried as any expecting father, but he was told his wives were in good hands. And then Julius needed to start calling all of his old friends to give them the news, as well as catch up with how their families were doing.
Eventually, Julius was let in to see his expanded family. Blanca and Candida were letting both their new cubs nurse from them. "A boy and girl each," said Candida, "You're really a father today."
Considering their parents, it wasn't a surprise that the cubs came out just as white as them. As such, they were given names to reflect that. Blanca's cubs were named Albion and Blanche while Candida's cubs were named Whitney and Vianca. Despite their pale coloring, the cubs were in good health, so long as they weren't given too much direct sunlight before they're a little older. Though most of the risk was mitigated by their fur.
