Selena, back home from a very busy day of being a werehyena alpha, plopped down on her bed. Her bedroom might be located in the heart of enemy territory, but it was still her refuge for now. Besides, the potion she'd just bought from Morgana should mask her hyena scent from the werewolves.
Selena thought about all she'd have to do tomorrow. First of all, she had to see Ellie, Harper, Beck, Brianna, Kristi, and Joelle off to Japan and welcome the Japanese exchange students to Stokerville. She wondered what the exchange students would be like. She'd done a bit of light reading on yokai once the exchange program had been proposed, but nothing too extensive. Nonetheless, she was excited to meet some real yokai.
After school, she was supposed to transform the cheer squad into werehyenas. She'd had a head start with Ashlee Kline and Summer Vogel, but that still left a lot of the squad to be changed (aside from Persephone von Karnstein, the freshly turned vampire). After that, she was invited to Chloe Stewart's birthday party, along with the entire girls' basketball team and cheer squad. Selena smiled at the thought of the wild werehyena orgy they'd all no doubt have together.
Then there was the matter of healing poor Abbie Peterson's wounded nuts. Selena winced at the memory of the sparring accident that had left the girls' basketball captain with only a single testicle. Hopefully a tanuki would be among the exchange students; tanuki semen was vital to the potion Morgana would need to heal Abbie.
Selena was snapped out of her thoughts by the sudden appearance of her sister Luna at her door. Luna was naked and in her human form. As usual, her skin was smooth and hairless. "Selena," the beautiful werewolf said, "Can we talk for a moment? It's urgent."
"What is it, Luna?" Selena groaned, not eager to chat with her least favorite sister.
"It's about my body hair," Luna said, tears welling up in her eyes as she spoke.
"What body hair?" Selena scoffed. "You've been shaving yours off for years."
"Oh, I wish this were just the result of shaving!" Luna snapped, gesturing at her bare hairless skin. "What you shave off eventually grows back! I was actually dumb enough to have my body hair lasered off today!"
"WHAT?!!" Selena gasped, fully realizing the seriousness of the situation. "A werewolf without body hair is just wrong! Does Mom know you did this?"
"No, just me, you, and my girlfriend Lucy," Luna said, shaking her head. "I need to find a solution before Mom finds out I did something so blasphemous." Luna shuddered at that horrible thought. Their mom Artemis was a huge sticker for traditional werewolf culture... and very, very ill-tempered.
"Why the hell would you do something so fucking stupid, Luna?!" Selena demanded.
"I wanted to fit in with my human friends from college," Luna groaned. "All the girls in my sorority shave, you know. Of course, shaving's a massive chore when your body hair grows as thick and as fast as mine. When my friend Claire had her armpit hair lasered off, I thought I'd found a solution and booked an appointment at the Stokerville Skin & Laser Center. Ugh, I regretted it the second I had it done! You have to help me fix this, Selena! I miss my pit hair, my leg hair, my bush, all of it!"
"Why are you asking me, Luna?" Selena asked skeptically. "We aren't exactly close. Why not ask Lucy for help?"
"Do you think that I'm naive?" Luna sneered. "That I can't see what's right in front of my nose? Just a few days ago, your body was as bald as any human's, and now you're at least as hairy as Mom! You've got some kind of secret, and I expect you to share it with me. I mean, we are sisters. I know we don't like each other, but that doesn't mean blood doesn't look out for blood in a werewolf pack."
Selena's mind drifted to the box of hair chews in her backpack. Just two or three of those magic caramels she'd bought from Morgana should solve all of Luna's body hair problems. But should Selena really share the hair chews with Luna Lyall of all people? Luna had been nothing but cruel and dismissive to Selena all her life. Sure, Selena's other sister Diana had teased her quite a bit, but that had always been affectionate. Luna, conversely, had always been deliberately nasty. Why should Selena go out of her way to make her lifelong bully's life a little easier?
On the other hand, Luna was right about one thing: she was family, and family was everything to a werebeast. Helping Luna would be the honorable thing to do. Besides, it would place Luna in Selena's debt. She'd owe her a favor. It would be nice for Selena to have another member of the werewolf pack that she could share here werehyena secret with. Maybe Luna could even help Selena hide her new life as a werehyena alpha from their mom like Diana was already doing. It was a gamble, but it could potentially be worth it.
