"Just so you know," Thomas took a sip of his coffee. "There probably won't be anything too exciting. Even with the college this town's pretty quiet." With a population less than 3,000 and that was with the small town college, there weren't many people who didn't know each other. The community was rather tight knit and didn't have to deal with too much crime.
"That's alright. I grew up here, so I don't expect anything too drastic," Roy said.
"That's good. So what's the paper you're writing supposed to be about?" Thomas set his coffee into the squad car and turned it on. He started driving to his first stop.
Roy already had his computer open again. It looked like there were a bunch of fragmented ideas written down already. "Oh. Nothing too terrible. It's still an introductory class so all I have to do is a 'day in the life of' kind of paper. But that can wait a bit. Why don't we start with something more interesting. Being a police officer has to be kind of scary right?"
"I mean... I guess," Thomas shrugged. "If I was in a major city, I feel like I'd be a lot more scared but since we're in Maple Acres, I don't feel as though I need to worry all that much."
"Yeah... I guess that's true. But you have to be nervous about something," Roy continued to pry.
Thomas could see that Roy was already typing something into his computer but couldn't see while he was driving. However, a strange familiarity with the college student came over him. "I guess running into someone bigger than me that I can't actually handle," Thomas admitted. Thomas wasn't exactly small, just average. He'd spent plenty of time in the gym to make sure that he was in peak performance, but that could only do so much. At 5'9" there were still plenty of guys bigger than him. "Know what I mean?"
"Yeah. I think so," Roy said. He was typing in his computer again.
"Hey! Don't go putting that in your paper. Alright? I told you that in confidence," Thomas said.
Roy chuckled at the statement. "I won't," though the devious smile on his face as he hit enter, sent a different message to Thomas. He tried his best to ignore it as he drove. However, something else was starting to bother him. Suddenly, he was feeling incredibly cramped in the car. It was like his shoulders were starting to bump up against the window. Thomas wiggled around a bit as he tried to get more comfortable. That was always rather hard as his long legs weren't built for the compact car. The seat couldn't go too far back because of the metal wall.
Thomas put at the collar of his shirt. Even though it was getting into late fall and the temperature was starting to drop, he felt this heat wash over him. He reached down at the heater and shut it off. "But could you imagine someone bigger than me?" he threw up his 20 inch arm and gave it a flex. The long sleeve shirt he was wearing under his uniform strained under the pressure from the bulging muscle. Seeing guys like Roy, face light up was always worth it. He looked like he was having trouble breathing. "You can touch it if you want. It's all real."
Roy reached over and used both of his hands to grab at the muscle. His fingers still couldn't touch as they reached around the massive bicep. "I think you'd have pretty good reason to be afraid if someone was bigger than you," Roy laughed.
"True," Thomas said, adjusting himself again. The car felt so small all of a sudden. Each time he moved, he felt like he had less room than even moments before. Even his uniform felt like it was squeezing too tightly against him. Though that made sense as the station had to specially order him one to fit his massive body.
"So, what's your average day like?" Roy asked. His little hands were still running along Thomas' arm, getting closer and closer to the rest of his body.
"Well, I start my morning at 4am in the gym for an hour and a half workout, followed by getting some coffee, then I do patrols and after work I get in another hour and a half workout, but sometimes I push that one into two hours. Then go home and make sure to carb up and rest till the next day."
"Interesting..." Roy said as he went back to typing into his computer.
