The Nu-Life booth could be very unpredictable at times. While Zack had know this, it didn't stop him from being surprised. He expected the changes to affect her personality, or maybe bring out her natural charm.
However, Anya wasn't even a woman anymore. She was a young boy, and while the Nu-life Booth was supposed to augment reality to a degree, he wasn't sure if it would allow him to still be dating Anya with this much of an age gap.

That was very common in age regression and progression cases where the user may not have been in the same spot in their career at their new age. This was especially true for people who skipped from middle school to college, or went from 60 to 6.
Of course among the changes would be marriage status and who they associated with. People could remember the user's old identity if they had known them before, but they never questioned why that person had suddenly disappeared. Zach always figured it was apart of the magic protecting itself and it's user in the new life they had been given.
Anya for her...er....his part did not seemed perturbed at all. After patting himself down to notice the lack if breast and his new appendage he gave Zach a smug look. "I told you." Anya spoke without his former Russian accent. "I was the perfect girl, so the only way to make me more likable was to make me a boy."
Zach rolled his eyes. He doubted that was it but he knew he wouldn't win the argument. "So, what are we going to call you for the next 3 weeks? You don't look like an Anya anymore."
