“Can I think about it until after school,” Greg asks.
“Sure,” Tyler replies.
Greg, his classmates and teacher all leave, leaving the “Jeep” alone in the dark garage.
Jeff's brother is sitting at a table, eating his lunch, when Dan, a friend of Greg, come walking up. “Hey Greg,” Dan says, sitting down next to his friend.
“Hey Dan,” Greg responds, “what's up?”
“I found this book in the library,” the other boy says, pulling out a old looking book bounded in what looks to be old leather.
“The Art Of Hypnosis,” Greg reads out loud, he then looks at his friend, raising an eyebrow, “really Dan? Don't tell me you believe in this shit.”
Dan, who is a 15-year-old boy with short black hair, green eyes, a light brown skin tone and an athletic body, shakes his head, “not really,” he says, “but it kinda sounds interesting and I thought to just try it out, just for fun.”
“Let me guess,” Greg says, “you want ME to be the “Guinea pig”?”
Dan nods, “you are my best friend and the only one I trust,” he says. Greg and Dan aren't classmates, they got to know each other at the school's annually festival and have been friends ever since.
Greg thinks about it, he then shrugs, “sure, I doubt it'll work anyway,” he says, “so I guess it won't hurt to try.”
“Cool,” Dan says, “I'd suggest we go somewhere more private. The Gym or the garage should be good, both won't have any classes after lunch.”
Greg agrees, he decides that the Gym would be the much safer place, they could hide away in a storage behind some gear, Dan agrees, so they head for the gym.
The two boys arrive at the Gym, the storage room, where all the big gymnastics equipment is stored, is unlocked, “looks like a teacher forgot to lock the room,” Dan says, “good for us. Come, let’s get inside! I can’t wait to try some stuff out!”
Greg chuckles and shakes his head as he follows his friend into the room, “you really are weird,” he says, closing the door behind them. He follows Dan to the far back of the room, they hide behind some mattresses, if someone were to enter the room, they would not see the two boys.
Dan ignores Greg’s comment, “I am just open to give everything a try,” he says, he sits down on a mattress and opens the book, Greg sits himself opposite of Dan and just waits. Dan starts to read the first page, “it says here, the Hypnotist would not need to use some kind of trinket, like a watch or coin,” he says, “all he’d need is the strong belief that Hypnosis is real. The best targets are people who are die-hard skeptics.”
Greg chuckles, “sounds like BS to me,” he says, “come on… let’s get this over with. I really want to get back to my Jeep,” he adds, sounding pretty impatient.
“Fine,” Dan says, “there is more to read, but I guess I can continue when I am home. Let me find something easy and harmless, before doing something major.” Dan flips through the pages until he finds something, “this one sounds fun,” he says, “it is titled “truth hypnosis”, and it says that the person under the hypnosis has to tell the truth.”
Greg shrugs, “okay…,” he says, “so, what do I have to do?”
“Well, you’d need to relax and look at me,” Dan replies, “only concentrating on my voice and look into my eyes.”
Greg snorts, “that sounds so gay,” he says, “but if it helps to stop you from bugging me, fine,” the teen then sits up straight but relaxes his body, he takes a few deep breaths in order to empty his mind. He then looks at Dan and says, “okay, I think I am ready.”
Dan nods, ‘I hope this really works,’ he thinks to himself, ‘I don’t want to be seen as some weirdo who believes in this kind of stuff.’ The 15-year-old takes a few deep breaths, “okay, here we go,” he says. Dan locks eyes with Greg, who is grinning stupidly, still not believing that hypnosis actually works, Dan ignores Greg’s stupid grin and starts to speak in a soft and relaxing tone. “Greg, I want you to take in deep breaths and relax your body and mind,” for a 15-year-old Dan still has a high boy-ish voice, his voice is crisp and soft and even has some relaxing effect on the listener.
Greg does as told, the 16-year-old feels himself relaxing more and more with each deep breath he takes, ‘whoa… it actually seems to be working,’ he thinks to himself, ‘nah… I am probably just tired from the stressful day.’
Dan continues to talk softly to Greg, “that’s it, Greg,” he says, “feel yourself sink deeper and deeper into the ocean of relaxation… Feel your mind become lighter and lighter, all your thoughts seeming to be floating out of your mind, leaving it empty. The only thing important to you is my voice and my voice alone!”
Greg suddenly feels a numbness spread through his body, but for some reason he does not panic, the numbness actually feeling pretty pleasurable. The teen feels his mind become empty as all his worries and thoughts are being pulled out of his scull.
Dan grins as he notices Greg’s expression become more and more relaxed, ‘it actually works,’ he thinks to himself, ‘sweet!’
The 15-year-old continues, “that’s it, Greg. Feel your mind go blank… all your worries and problems just vanishing… feels so good, doesn’t it,” he grins when Greg lazily nods his head. “You even find it pleasurable, feeling your body go numb… the feeling of being unable to move just makes you feel happy and relaxed, knowing that I am here to take care of you, right?”
“Ye-yeah,” Greg says in a dreamy voice, “feels… so good to… let go.”
Dan grins, “very good,” he says, “now, I want you to answer all my questions truthfully! You are unable to lie to me, because lying to me, your master, would just fill you with disappointment. You don’t want to disappoint me now, would you?”
“No,” Greg says, “I’d never… would want to… disappoint you, master!”
Dan grins, hearing Greg call him “master” somehow fills him with a strange feeling of power, “good, then let us begin!”
