Pam stared at her reflection in the mirror, paw-hands braced on the porcelain sink and her mouth open in shock. Sharp teeth gleamed around a rough-looking tongue, and her white whiskers quivered as she closed her maw with a *snap.* Twisting her head, she saw that her mouth and nose had pushed out into a short muzzle and her ears had become pointy, poking out of her hair higher on her head than they should have been!
"Mrooowwwwhh! Whrry iss thiss happrenning?!" she yowled. Something whipped behind her in agitation, and she craned her neck to find just what she'd feared earlier: a long, fur-covered tail that sprouted from the hospital gown just above her buttocks. Her neck was surprisingly limber, which she hardly noticed as she gazed down at her back, further horrified to see more of the white fur that covered her new tail poking out of the rather large gown... she felt her paws slip off the counter, and as she twisted to catch herself, she realized she was falling rather a long way before she landed on all-fours once more. She'd shrunk! The thin gown engulfed her, tangling her limbs as she struggled to free herself, claws tearing the cheap fabric.
Emerging victoriously from her clothing confinement, a pitiful "Mew" escaped her as she took in her shrunken, naked form. Or rather, NOT naked - Pam was now covered completely in a coat of bright white fur, with black patches on the backs of her arms and sides of her legs. She squeezed her eyes closed in fear, but then opened them and crouched, preparing to leap up onto the sink; she HAD TO see herself one more time!
Without thinking too hard, she sprang upwards, overshooting a bit and crashing against the mirror. Her paws scrabbled on the slick porcelain, but she got her balance and turned to see herself, only to find a calico cat staring back. Red fur covered her ears and head where her red hair had been, with black and red splotches of color trailing down her neck and back. Her tail was all white, and overall, her fur was relatively short. She was a CAT. She'd TURNED HERSELF into a CAT.
Voices in the other room had her ears twisting, and she let out a frightened "MROW!" from the bathroom. Footsteps approached and the door swung open to reveal a rather handsome man in a suit and tie, who quickly scooped her up from the counter and nuzzled her head.
"There's my sweet baby girl! How did you get yourself into that bathroom?" he murmured, before turning to the ... nurse? A woman in a white coat was in the room, but there was no longer a hospital bed or visitor's chair like there'd been when she fled to the bathroom. Instead, a stainless steel table jutted out from one wall while a counter ran along another opposite a wooden bench.
The woman was typing on a computer mounted on a swivel arm from the wall above the counter. "You're lucky someone found her and scanned her so she could be brought to us, Mr. Colgate. That microchip you had implanted in her is really a lifesaver! Other than a bit of shock, I'd say she is totally healthy and ready to go. I'll let you know if her blood work returns with anything abnormal."
"Thanks, Doc. I won't be letting her roam the estate grounds anymore, that's for sure! Please forward the bill to Jasper and he'll have it paid immediately, along with a hefty donation to your veterinary hospital" the man stroked her fur, eliciting an involuntary purr from the woman-turned-cat before carrying her out to a black car parked at the curb. Another man hopped out, opening the back door before they could reach it and closing it as the man slid inside, still petting Pam. "Don't you worry, darling. Daddy's never going to let you get lost again!"
