They said their goodbye to Libby and Sarah but on the way back to their car ran into somebody else they knew. Melissa was shopping with her sister Linda. Melissa had spotted them first and came across to say hello.
‘Hi there Paul’ she said to Mandy
‘Hi Melissa, Hi Linda, meet my mother Mandy’ replied the real Mandy.
‘Hello Mrs Jenkinson. I’m Melissa’
‘Hello Melissa’
‘And this is my sister Linda”
‘Hello Linda’ The two sisters did look alike. Paul thought. He had not met Melissa’s sister previously.
Mandy remembered that he possibly needed to make amends to Melissa thanks to Paul’s inept effort shopping with her several days ago. He went across and gave her a friendly but chaste hug and said ‘You look great. Is that a new top?’
Melissa gave a giggle which suggested to Mandy that his approach had been correct. ‘No it’s actually a hand me down from Linda. First time I’ve worn it though. What about yourself? It looks like you’ve been shopping’
‘Mum suggested I needed to update my wardrobe. I have a new shirt and a pair of trousers’ He took the items out of their bags and showed them to Melissa’
‘Nice’
‘So have you just got here?’
‘Yes, Linda wanted to check out some shops and I thought I may as well accompany her’
‘Would you mind if I hung out with you as well? I realise I was possibly a bit of a jerk the other day’
Melissa seemed surprised. She looked across to Linda who had heard the conversation. ‘Are you okay with a bit of extra company Linda?’
‘You don’t need my permission little sister’ Linda replied.
Paul was a bit puzzled ‘I thought we were going home…’
‘You go Mum. I’d like to spend a bit of time with Melissa if that’s okay. I’ll find my own way home’
Paul got the hint. She was also very worried about her pad. Would she leak? ‘Just remember you have a basketball game tonight. We need to leave at 6’ Paul wasn’t going to miss the basketball game, even if she had to just spectate in her Mother’s body. In a way it was a relief that Mandy would be the one playing. She had confidence that Mandy would once more perform well as “Paul”.
Paul hurried off after “Paul” gave her a goodbye hug. Her only dilemma was whether to visit the toilets in the shopping centre or risk making straight for home. In the end caution won out. For the first time Paul went to public toilets as a female.

Melissa was amazed at the contrast between Paul on Wednesday and Paul on Friday. Gone was his awkwardness. He was now a brilliant shopping companion. He actually gave sensible advice when Melissa tried on some new skirts. He even swayed Linda towards a trench dress that Melissa did admit looked sensational on her. Linda purchased the dress after trying it on.
Melissa was also impressed that Paul seemed only too happy to hold her hand as they looked around the shops. He didn’t seem the least bit shy about showing affection. She decided that it must have been the presence of Dave that had made him so awkward the other day. Interestingly he wasn’t the least bit awkward around Linda.
Thanks to Paul’s help she and Linda had finished their shopping by 4 and Linda offered to drop Paul back home, but before they left Linda made a lame excuse about visiting a bank in order to give the teenagers some privacy. She told them that she would meet them by the car in 15 minutes.
That was just enough time for Melissa to lead Paul out to a tree line by a creek beyond the car park. There they shared several minutes of passionate kissing. Before returning to wait near Linda’s car. They also arranged another movie date for tomorrow night.
If Linda knew what the two teenagers had been doing when she returned to the car she didn’t say anything. The sisters dropped Paul off outside his house. Melissa was thrilled with how the afternoon had gone.
