Chris peered at the different windows opening unto various worlds. All looked interesting. One showed a lab, which resembled the medical research sort, with rows of cages. Chris bent over. He had always been interested in sciences. In biology in particular. He thought his classes were good and he was seriously thinking about selecting biology or medicine as a major for college.
"What do they study in here?" he asked.
"Evolutionary and comparative biology," said Beth Anne.
"Are they good?"
"Among the best, I understand. Their research is top-notch and the scientists very talented and very good teachers."
Now that made Chris' eyes sparkle and perked his interest.
"Then I want to go there!" he exclaimed.
"Are you sure?" Beth Anne asked in a neutral voice.
"Yes! Absolutely!" he said enthusiastically.
"Go ahead, then," Beth Anne said.
Chris stepped through the portal but as he crossed into this new world, he fainted. And when he woke up, he slowly realized with horror that he was in a cage. A cage in the rows of the lab! He was to be a subject, not a scientist! He screamed out his utter desperation, terrified if what was going to happen to him.
