"Okay let's grab a bite to eat."
Alice grinned, grabbing her jacket as the pair made their way towards the front. She couldn't believe how great she felt, the aches, the pains, even the tremors from Parkinson. All of it was gone, Alice felt as if she had a new lease on life. Locking the door to the shop, the pair made their way towards a local pub they sometimes ordered from. Grabbing a booth, they quickly began scanning the menu for something to eat. "So what are you thinking," Nicole asked. "Your usual?"
Alice paused, gazing at the Turkey club sandwich she usually ordered. The meal itself was good, it filled her up yet it was kind of bland. Alice had been forced to adjust her diet as she grew older. Spicy food would upset her stomach after she passed 60. Now though, 60 was a decade away and Alice wanted something with a little more kick. "I was thinking maybe a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich tonight."
Nicole balked, staring slack jawed at her friend. "Are you sure," she asked. "I mean aren't you worried about upsetting your stomach?"
"I used to eat stuff like this all the time," Alice grinned. "If I'm young again I might as well enjoy my meal."
"I just surprised is all," Nicole shrugged. Alice chuckled, casting her friend an impish look. "Dont be such an old fuddy duddy a little bit of spicy food never hurt anyone," Alice now paused, withdrawing the dice from her purse as she gazed at Nicole. "You should give it a try Nicole."
Nicole bit her lip apprehensively, it certainly was tempting. Fifty was approaching faster than she wanted, the woman noticing an extra grey hair here, another wrinkle there, not to mention the nagging aches and pains that seemed so prominent after anyone passed forty. "I don't know," she said quietly. "I mean what if something goes wrong? I mean you've already lost so many years."
"I had alot of years to lose," Alice laughed. "And I still have alot left. I wouldn't worry so much Nicole. What's one throw? At worst you would end up what? Thirty three." Nicole now rubbed her chin thoughtfully, it was certainly tempting and Alice had a point, they did have a plethora of years. "I'll think about it."
Alice shrugged, a kind smile on her face as she placed the dice on the table. "Just let me know," she said. "If there's anyone I want to share this gift with it's you."
