‘Too late’ Liz called back in his deep male voice. ‘What’s happened?’
‘I’m not changing. I started but then I reverted to you again. What’s going on?’
‘Oh dear! I read that this can happen. It either means you are pregnant or you are having a period’
‘You didn’t have sex with anyone on the plane did you?’ Maureen added ‘That surfer guy was cute’
‘Of course not!’ an indignant Roger answered. ‘What do you mean by having a period. Surely this body is too old to have periods’
‘You weren’t listening. That body is only 33 and when I was 33 I did have periods. I had forgotten about them’
‘A period? You mean blood and all that stuff?’
‘A period involves a bit of blood but it’s no big deal. I doesn’t stop us doing anything. The only problem is you won’t be able to change until it is over. How long did your periods last for Liz?’
‘Probably 6 days go to woe. I’m sorry Roger it’s been years since I had to think about periods. The thought had not occurred to me’
‘Are you actually bleeding? We will need to get you either pads or tampons’
‘You don’t have any?’ asked an alarmed Roger
‘It’s been years for me as well. I guess we will have to go shopping’
‘I don’t want pads or tampons!’
‘I’m sorry but that’s part of life for women. It will do you good to experience what we have both had to go through for 35 years’ said Maureen. She didn’t sound sympathetic.
It was Maureen who went into the toilet with Roger. She pointed out the spotting on the panties Roger was wearing. ‘There’s you proof. At least we know you are not going to become a mum’
‘What do I do?
'We will go shopping for sanitary items as soon as Roger has changed’
‘I’m Roger’
‘No you’re not. At least not for the next 6 days. You look like Liz to me. Put some toilet tissue in as a makeshift pad until we can buy some. It looks like it has just started’
‘How can I be Liz? I’ll soon have a twin’
‘Good point. We might have to give you a different name. Any preferences?’
‘Roger’
‘That doesn’t work. You’re now an attractive redheaded woman you need a feminine name. Felicity I think’
The real Liz knocked. ‘Are you decent? Not that I haven’t seen that body naked many times’
‘Yes I’m decent again’ Roger called out in Liz’s voice.
The door opened. Liz was perhaps a quarter of the way back to regaining his own body. His hair was longer and red and he had shrunk somewhat. He still had a bulge in his groin ‘I’d like to watch my changes and this is the only decent mirror in the room’
‘I was telling this Liz that she needs to find a new name. We can’t have two identical Liz’s floating around'
‘You stay as Liz. You will be Liz for the next week so better if you get used to answering to that name. I’ll be Raelene your twin for tonight but I’ll have to change back to Roger again as soon as I can. The tour starts tomorrow night and we need to present as Liz, Maureen and Roger’
