Ryan was your average 12 year old boy, well almost. Ryan was always a bit small for his age barely coming in at 5 foot tall.
He had short, blonde hair, piercing blue eyes and he was thin as a rail. Summer vacation had just started and he had already started complaining about being bored around the house where he spent most of his time alone with his dad often out of town on work trips and his older brother off at college.
One day, Ryan decided to head downtown where he came across this small shop he had never seen before.
He walked into the dimly lit storefront and saw a bunch of random and spooky mystical artifacts. As he looked around his eyes became fixated on a coin in the diaplay counter which featured a silver dragon like design with a bright red stone in its center.
"That coin is unlike anything you've ever seen before," a gravely and grave voice said.
Startled, Ryan stumbled back as an frail old man walked from out of the shadows and behind the counter.
"This coin has the ability to change one's fate."
"Oh, is it some sort of lucky charm?" Ryan asked.
"It's far more powerful than that son. This coin has the ability to make the wildest wishes come true.
"Huh, sounds cool. Is it for sale?"
"For you, it's on the house."
"Thank you sir, but I have money to pay you for it as it surely is worth a lot."
"Nonsense, I want you to have it. Just remember not to abuse it's power."
"Yes, sir," Ryan said taking the ring and leaving the store.
Ryan made his home after leaving the store. After getting home, he went inside and pulled the coin out of his pocket.
Before be could think too much about it, there was a ring at the door.
As he opened the door he saw his older brother John standing at the door with a suitcase.
"Hey little dude," John said rubbing Ryan's head as he entered the house. "Dad called me and is going to be out of town for a few weeks so I'll be crashing here to watch over you."
Ryan and John were very different people. Ryan had always been an introvert, a boy who focused on his studies and neglected his body, and therefore remained quite thin. Even his face was pretty average. John, on the other hand, was the one who had been blessed with both good looks and an outgoing personality. He was athletic and very popular among his classmates.
John was a mountain of a man standing at a commanding 6'4. While his height alone commanded attention, John dabbled in bodybuilding and had the muscles to show it.
He was extremely well proportioned with very wide shoulders on top of him, framing the
thick torso packed with muscles – lats, arms and chest, all mounted on top of two very solidly developed legs, all that well noticeable even through the clothes he wore.
"Let me put my suitcase away and I'll order us some dinner."
As he said, John unloaded his stuff in his old room and ordered pizza for dinner. After they ate Ryan settled in to watch TV while John went for a run. When he returned he hit the shower before returning to the living room where Ryan had remained stationary enjoying TV.
"So what are you watching little dude," John asked.
"Its this show on Netflix about magic and knights," Ryan said turning around to face John who was in the other room getting a snack.
"Sounds cool, so how many episodes will I be behind if I start watching?"
Ryan was speechless. When he turned around, he never quite expected to see John standing there shirtless in a pair of athletic shorts.
He knew John was shredded, but he hadn’t seen him shirtless forever and couldn't believe just how ripped he was.
"Well, you going to answer me you stupid little twerp" John said looking up to see a dumbfounded Ryan starring blankly back at him.
Suddenly, he raised his arm and flexed his bicep right behind Ryan. "It’s ok. These muscles do turn heads all the time," he said, swith a slight smile. “Maybe one day you’ll finally go through puberty and look half as swoll as me. But for now you’re just a little twerp who still hasn’t told me what this show is about!”
That was when Ryan made his first wish not knowing that it would mean.
