"Hi there, I'm Harvey Mainz and this is my girlfriend, Kendra Tykes."
"And today, we're here to talk about Valentine's Day and what it means. Which of course means love."
"And sometimes very different people fall in love," said Harvey, "Take me and Kendra for example. She's a mountain lion and I'm a true lion. Doesn't seem like much of a difference, does it? Of course, we're completely different kinds of big cats so it shouldn't work for us."
"All it means is that I can't have your cubs," said Kendra, "As long as we avoid that, there's no reason we can't be together."
"That's one of the beautiful things about Animalia, really," said Harvey, "It allows people who otherwise can't be compatible to form loving couples."
"And it's not just the species barrier," said Kendra, "The age barrier is also a non-issue thanks to the youthening effect of a double-dose."
"Of course, that works both ways too," said Harvey, "Not often, but sometimes underage kids and teens get a double-dose and mature earlier than they were meant to."
"At least with teens, they knew what to expect. Younger kids fortunately get a boost in mental maturity to match their new bodies," said Kendra, "But they're still considered legal adults afterwards and they've gone on to have happy relationships." Here, they showed clips of Marcy, Milly, Ashley, Jennifer, and the Hanson Herd with their respective partners.
"And today, we have someone who's been double-dosed for a while and is finally ready to tell her story," said Harvey. Here, the camera pulled considerably back. Which was to be expected as the young lady sitting by Harvey and Kendra was a giraffe Animalian and even sitting she was far taller than them. "So, tell us about yourself," said Harvey.
"Hello, my name's Janine Griffin and I was 10 years old before the Outbreak," said the giraffe.
"That's quite a few years ago," commented Kendra, "Why didn't you talk about it after graduating WSA?"
Janine shrugged and said, "To be honest, I don't like the spotlight very much. I was pretty shy when I was a 10-year-old girl. Becoming a 10-foot-tall giraffe woman didn't help with that."
"So why come out with it now?" asked Harvey.
"Well, I want to take the next big step with my mate, but I'm trying to work up the nerve. One of my friends suggested since I've kept how I used to be a kid before conversion bottled up, letting it out my help get me past some of my other anxieties."
"And do you think it's working?" asked Kendra.
Janine looked thoughtful before saying, "I don't know. Maybe it wasn't as important as I thought it was."
"Well, I hope you feel more confident with your mate now," said Kendra.
"And now we have a pair of couples who are newer to Animalia, though their tale is no less interesting," said Harvey. The scene then shifted to show two Animalian couples, a horse pair and a cow pair. The two men were sitting on one side and even though they were obviously different species, there was some degree of similarity between them, if mostly because they had the same brown coloring in their fur and hair. The two women were more starkly different as the mare was a blonde while the cow had chestnut hair. "So, would you mind telling us who you are and your relationship with each other?" asked Harvey.
The bull said, "My name's Stanford and this is my son, Bill."
The mare said,"My name's Sunny and this is my adopted daughter, Lulu,"
The stallion said, "I'm Sunny's mate and I'm 9 years old."
The cow said, "I'm Stanford's mate and I'm 7 years old."
"Well, this is an unusual turn of events," said Kendra.
"And I want to say first that what happened was a complete accident," said Stanford.
"A happy accident, as it turned out," said Sunny.
"And I'm sure there's a very interesting story there," said Harvey.
"Well, it started after Bill's mother passed away. I...had a hard grieving period and then decided we both deserved to start fresh," said Stanford.
"Me, I always wanted to be a mother, but I had a...condition that made me infertile," said Sunny, "I adopted Lulu, but being a single mother was a little hard for me to manage. I'm sorry about that, Lulu."
"I've already forgiven you," said Lulu kindly.
"Anyways, I thought that by joining Animalia, not only would I have my fertility fixed, I'd have a better chance of finding a man who'd also be a good father for Lulu," said Sunny.
"We just happened to both to the same place for conversion at the same time," said Bill, "Hard to believe, isn't it?"
"So how comes you're separate species?" asked Kendra.
"Well, I was supposed to become a cow like Dad, but I got a little sidetracked when I was going to convert," said Bill, "I went to get some cookies to go with my milk. But when I got back, I went into the wrong changing room."
"It was my changing room and I hadn't gotten around to drinking my horse milk yet," said Lulu, "I didn't mind his company and we talked for a while and had those cookies. But we grabbed each other's milk by mistake."
"So I became a horse and Lulu became a cow," said Bill, "We were worried our parents will be mad because we took the wrong milk."
"But we didn't drink all the milk and I suggest that if we drank the right milk, we'll become the Animalians we were supposed to be," said Lulu.
"Obviously that didn't work," said Harvey.
"Well, not in the way we expected it to," said Bill, "But I don't mind being a stallion now. Especially with a good mate like Sunny."
"I'm sure your parents were shocked when they saw what happened," said Kendra.
"Oh, we were," said Stanford, "But it was already too late and all we could do is make the best of it."
"And we did," said Lulu warmly, "I couldn't have gotten a better mate than you."
"I'll admit, this wasn't how I expected to start a family here," said Sunny, "But I'm closer with Lulu than ever and Bill became a very fine man. So I guess I can't complain."
"All things considered, you're no worse than some of the accidental exposures during the Outbreak," said Harvey.
"And you're quite lucky to find someone compatible so soon," said Kendra.
"But like I said, Animalia can make people more compatible for love," said Harvey.
"And sometimes the best things can come from complete accidents," said Kendra.
