Yuriko looked approvingly over Kim's new form, while Kim took the time to adjust to her new dimensions. Hardly any conversation was needed to pass between them, just a raspy "Bring him to her" before Yuriko slid out the window to carry out the rest of Jennifer's plans. Kim grinned at the thought that she would be able to please her new demon mistress by bringing her brother to her, and knew that her new body was more than up to the task. Unlike Yuriko she was still able to resume her human appearance, and she slipped into this illusion as she made her way back downstairs.
Kyle had just finished watching his favourite anime when he heard footsteps behind him. He span around to start telling Kim off. "Damnit Kim, why do you have to keep bugging me all the t-" The rest of his tirade died in his throat when his eyes finally registered what he was seeing. It was his sister, sure. He could tell that much at least. But there was something lurking beneath the comforting facade. Some massive evil lay coiled up inside her, barely contained behind his sisters skin. It was demonic, deadly, and so very disturbing. And it was smiling at him.
Kyle may have been an arsehole, but he wasn't an idiot. He knew that if you were planning on using an ancient curse to get revenge on someone, then it wasn't a very good idea to be unprepared if they turned around and used it on you. That was why before he cursed Jennifer, he'd used it once before on Kim to get her to make him immune to the curse from then on - unless he wanted it to affect him, because he didn't want to rule out all the possibilities of the curse - and then make her forget about the whole thing. He'd also made sure this immunity extended to all the flow-on effects from the curse. Consequently he could see right through his sisters disguise to her true form beneath it, and he was immune to her magical charms (a fact which, when he realised it, made him immensely grateful). What was making him extremely nervous was that he was pretty sure he wasn't immune to the incredibly sharp looking claws and talons which her body seemed to have in abundance.
"What's the matter Kyle?" it said, and he could feel its cold reptilian eyes studying him carefully. Kyle's mind raced. 'She doesn't know I can see through the illusion! Act like nothing's wrong!' His brain desperately kicked his mouth into gear, and he managed to stammer out "You... uh... just managed to surprise me is all. I... uh... sorry for yelling at you." The creature's mouth twisted further into a sickening grin, and Kyle had to fight with all his willpower to resist a shudder as it sat down next to him. "Aww... that's okay. Hey, I've got an idea. Why don't we go do something together? I've just heard of something really cool."
Kyle's mind whirled with all the threats he could imagine lying in wait for him at the end of that sentence. He had to do something, and he had to do it fast. Seeing that twisted mockery of his sister contort its face into a hellish leer was finally enough to kick-start his brain into coming up with a plan, and he leaped out of his seat with an enthusiasm that almost betrayed him. "Uh... sure. I'll just go get my jacket." He moved around behind the couch toward his room, silently closing his hand around a heavy metal lamp. Suddenly he pointed out to the doorway, "Oh hey, is that mom and dad home?" Just for a second the creature's watchful eyes left him as she turned toward the doorway, but it was all the time he needed to strike it in the back of the head with all the strength he could muster. The blow landed well to Kyle's great relief, and he breathed a sigh of thanks as the creature slumped unconscious to the ground. He let the lamp fall from his trembling fingers as he forced himself to relax. He couldn't bring himself to beat her to death, despite what had happened to her. He could tell that she was still his sister, and despite the fact that he might not actually like her that much some times, she was still family. What the hell happened to her? It had to have been the curse, otherwise he couldn't have seen through the illusion.
Jennifer. It had to be her. That bitch was trying to get him back. His fists shook with rage. Goddamnit, he was getting revenge on her for something she did, he didn't deserve to have it come back at him! And to go through his family like this, he thought as he saw what was left of his sister lying on the ground next to him, that was just too far. It suddenly occurred to him that she might still be in Kim's room, after all, he didn't hear the phone ring so she must have done it in person, right? He picked up the lamp again and snuck cautiously up the stairs and looked into Kim's room.
She wasn't there. But the sight of that room was enough to make him retch for minutes on end.
She had to pay. But... if she's powerful enough to do that to Kim... what chance did he have? He was going to have to think this through. He couldn't just start trying to play the action hero and charge off to take her down. And, come to think of it, he probably didn't have too long before Kim wakes up...
