"An understanding!! Your daughter ripped my brothers eyes out!"
Kellie could only sigh sadly, Morgan's actions had drawn the ire of not only the kitsune but the Yakuza as well. In both cases forgiveness would be hard to come by. Kitsune carried grudges and the Yakuza would not take kindly to a family member being attacked. Considering the matron of one of the most powerful Yakuza families was a kitsune and she was the sister of Akira, Kellie worried her daughter would be targeted for years to come. Still, she needed to try to find a way to keep Morgan safe. "I understand that Morgan needs to be held accountable Aiko," she said. "All I am trying to do is prevent any further bloodshed. That's why I need to talk with Fukushu."
"Is that so," Fukushu growled, his sword pointing towards the ghost. "Tell me spirit? Why do you need to speak to me?"
"Because I'm well aware that you seek revenge," Kellie stated. "How many years did you wait before finally eliminating Mika and Claudia? How long did you fight my wife? All because of what happened to your sister."
"Yomi did not deserve her fate," Fukushu snarled. "Your wife. The Harris women. They tortured and brutalized her along with Lilith. Her death was prolonged and painful."
"And what did your vengeance accomplish," Kellie asked. "You maimed Lilith, killed Claudia, yoir actions even led to the deaths of Mika and Katie! In the end what happened? Was it worth it?"
Fukushu furrowed his brow, part of him wanted to say yes yet another part understood that his quest for vengeance inevitably led to the Normal gaining power. Without a Catalyst to shape the world everyone had suffered. Was his vengeance, in the end, worthwhile?
"You talk of Fukushu's past yet ignore what is right in front of you," Aiko snarled. "Your daughter maimed my brother! Do you really think I will let this injustice pass? My people! My clan! We demand her blood."
"Aiko," Akira said calmly. "Wait."
"Wait," Aiko exclaimed. "Wait for what? She asks for mercy for her child now after what Morgan did! All you have done for the last century is protect them and they betray you. I want the girls head."
"I can't let you harm Morgan," Kellie said defiantly.
"I'm not giving you a choice ghost," Aiko spat. "Do you not think I can't stop you? Given time and considering my resources, the Nakamoto clan will find a way to banish you and destroy your traitorous daughter!"
Kellie furrowed her brow, the ghost giving the vixen a defiant stare. It was possible that the Yakuza could find a way to harm her, even if she was a ghost. As she was about to speak, she was surprised to see Fukushu sheath his weapon. "What do you propose," he asked.
If Kellie could sigh in relief, she would. Somehow Fukushu was the one willing to take a moment to at least hear what she had to say. Perhaps this new Catalyst was truely influencing him in a positive way. "What about a trial," Kellie asked. "And if Morgan is found guilty..."
"When she is found guilty," Aiko hissed. Kellie composed herself, trying to focus as the guards and kitsune loyal to Aiko leveled their weapons at her. "After the verdict," Kellie continued. "Morgan would serve time in prison. Perhaps under the supervision of thr kitsune."
Akira now reached over, placing a hand on his sister's shoulder. The vixen glancing at her wounded brother. "It is a fair offer," he said. "I do not wish death upon Morgan nor any of the others I have protected."
"Our laws are quite clear though Akira," Fukushu stated. "The dismemberment of a kitsune is a death sentence. That law was put in place for a reason. Far too many wizards and humans have maimed our people in a vain attempt at taking our power."
"Laws can change," Akira said solemnly. "And their are always exceptions to the rule. I do not want Morgan's death to be in my name."
Fukushu sighed, a grimace forming across his face as he turned to the ghost of Kellie Carlson. "Your daughter will need to surrender herself," he said. "But I can not guarantee her safety. Far too many of our kind will want her dead."
"And are you one of them Fukushu," Kellie asked.
"I will respect Akiras wishes,"he grumbled. "But I can't guarantee others will. Regardless, I will be hunting your daughter."
"I understand," Kellie said softly. The ghost now facing Aiko and Akira as a warm smile spread across her face. "Thank you for showing mercy Akira and I'm sorry about what she did." As the ghost now faded, Aiko scowled as she glared at Fukushu. "What was that about!"
"I am honoring your brothers request Aiko," Fukushu said softly. "But that does not mean I will not help in finding Morgan."
"So whats changed Fukushu," Aiko asked. "Remember I was present when Isao was blinded. You wiped out entire groups of wizards in your search."
"And it accomplished nothing sister," Akira added. "The only thing we did was shed innocent blood. Isao's attacker never faced justice."
"And what about Yomi's attackers," Aiko stated. "Fukushu had no qualms about murdering wizards or maiming the demon queen. Is my brother not worthy of your vengeance?"
Fukushu snarled, his eyes glowing red as he glared at the Yakuza matron. The nine tails anger was palatable, the vixens minions now leveling their weapons at Fukushu himself. "I respect your brother more than any kitsune alive Aiko," he snarled. "If he wants Morgan to live than I shall honor those wishes." Aiko furrowed her brow, the five tail vixen trying to maintain her composure as Fukushu glared at her.
"In case you've forgotten Aiko," Fukushu growled. "My vengeance nearly destroyed the very wizards you have considered allies. Your brothers wisdom on the matter may be correct. We do not need vengeance, we need justice."
Aiko offered a stiff nod, not entirely satisfied with what Fukushu or Akira wanted. As the nine tails now ascended the stairs, he could only sigh heavily. All he wanted was to see his son and contemplate how much he had changed since becoming a father.
