WHOOSH!
That was the last thing Kate remembered hearing before her vision went dark; a swift breeze of golden sparkles that surrounded her and the lamp in a gale. She was somewhere between unconscious and conscious. She could think and understand (somewhat) what just happened a few moments ago, but unable to perceive what was happening currently.
Then, suddenly, the imperception faded as light and vision filled her eyes and feeling came to her body once more. But...something was different, even more different than the new female sensations.
"Rrgh..wha?" she groaned, as she tried to stand, only to fall backwards. "W-woah! Oof!"
Strange, for some reason she couldn't stand up. At least, not in the normal way. Her body felt large and alien. The only way she was able to stand back up was on all fours.
"What...what's wrong with me?" she asked as her grogginess settled. She saw she was in a forest of some sort, though none like she's ever seen. The grass was a vibrant bluish green and the purple-oaked trees extended to infinite heights in the sky, their glowing golden leaves providing a bright canopy over her. She saw a kaleidoscope of butterflies approach her and, to her surprise, form up into the shape of an arrow to point her towards a small reflective pond.
She blinked, a little unsure of what was going on, but following the directions of butterflies seemed to be the only thing to do right now. She trotted over to the pond to get a look at herself and nearly screamed. In the reflection she saw a pristine white unicorn mare, her purplish-silver mane cascading down her neck. Her bright golden eyes sparkled, their pupils wide in shock.
"No, no, no! This can't be happening! This is a dream!" Kate turned back to face the butterflies. "You...you must be sentient, right? You can understand me...right? Turn me back! Take me back home! Please!"
