The horn blew as the powerful engines came to life as the massive ship began to head out of the channel and toward open water.
The Star of the Seven Seas wasn’t the newest cruise ship to come out of the shipyards of the world, it wasn’t even the newest ship in the fleet owned by it’s company.
Still, it was an impressive ship capable of holding just over 5,000 passengers and all the crew needed not only to run the ship but to see to the passenger’s needs. The top deck had three large pools which got plenty of warm sunlight and would be a popular place for many on this cruise. Multiple bars and restaurants were located around the ship, there was a massive playroom for children, theater for the families and a moderately size casino for those who wanted to spend more money there. The Star of the Seven Seas would be making a few stops on it’s seven-day cruise around the Caribbean before returning to port just to do it all over again with a fresh group of passengers.
Almost every room was full and the weather was clear and at the moment the weather was clear and the seas where calm. Nothing seamed to be an issue as the ship’s horn blew one more time as it passed an historic lighthouse and entered open water.
Unknown to the passengers and crew this cruise would not have smooth sailing, while the ocean and the weather may be calm something far worse was already onboard.
The Mermaid virus, was unknown to the world but that would change after this cruise.
For the men, women and children who had walked on board this ship as passengers or cruise most of them would never walk off again.
They would have to swim.
