A Game of Change

'ARM'ed and powerful

Amber had just finished organizing his room when he got the message on his phone. he had been busy testing his new powers. AstroTurf now coated his floor. his vanity was transformed into an alchemy table. his bed looked similar to a nest in shape. the mattress is now circular.

his blinds were now maroon drapes with silver magic particles drawn on them. the window is now a stained glass image depicting a wizard and a dinosaur. it was enchanted so he could see out it if he wanted to. the 4 walls rounded out. the plaster and paint replaced by stone.

the ceiling was now a cone on top of a tower. several glowing orbs lit up the room. they were all the colors of the rainbow. an additional story was added to the room. this story was filled to the brim with books.

just for fun, he had the books move around on their own. it didn't matter he could summon the one he needed. the closet had turned into a large wardrobe. inside were a variety of clothes. some looked like cliche wizard uniforms. others fit his new style.

Finally was the door. it had become solid oak. its simple knob was replaced with a brass raptor claw hand. he kinda got carried away in the short time he had to himself. he exited his room.

the spell he cast only affected the interior dimensions of his room. the only evidence was the ornate door depicting a prehistoric world. when he got to the dining room he saw Eri and Sally there. "Sally here wanted us to come back to the table," Eri said. "I figured we should be here when our turn happens," Sally said.

even with his peppy voice he now had a regal tone to it. "I thank you for being here" Amber rolled his dice as well. "to help with your magic charms. You'll have some new arms.". he could feel each individual scale as it spreads over his skin.

tan scales covered his inner biceps. the rest was covered by the same maroon color. once it reached his elbows feathers grew there. these feathers were like those on his tail and ass. the changes stopped right at his wrists.

he then noticed the lights flickering. the emergency generator in the basement was giving out. "do not worry my friends." he said as his eyes glowed. "lumen adfixa ad novum fontem convertat lucem. unum, quod incantato mundo deceat." he said.

an amber glow covered every light in the house. the chandelier gained candles instead of bulbs. torches lined the hallway and stairs. a lantern appeared outside both entrances. the most interesting thing about it was the light level stayed the same.

"wow. I have got to say this is impressive" Sally said. "I thank you. with each roll my knowledge and skill of magic improves," he said waving his hand. he needn't even speak to cast this simple spell. a cupboard glowed and opened. a glass levitated towards the fridge.

the fridge door opened and a jug of juice came out. the cap unscrewed by itself. once it had poured to three-fourths full it returned to the fridge. the glass now gently flew into Amber's hand. the took a sip as he looked at his friends. the mouth hung open. "I would like to see your next change" he said while pointing to Sally's piece.
