It was about 20 minutes later when they called Tony back for his intake meeting. There was a small amount of paperwork left for him to sign, and then that was it! He wasn't legally a person any longer. On some level, he was a little concerned about that, but he knew what he was doing. He was going to be well-feed, well-kept and well-treated as a K-9. He really hoped his new human partner was going to like hip hop. He was going to be at his or her mercy forevermore! At least doing a dog's work couldn't be too hard, could it?
The staff explained to him that he would be sniffing for drugs, and so he would be training to recognize multiple illegal substances by scent. At first, he would be staying in a human bedroom at the training facility, but as his changes progressed, he would eventually be moving in with one of his trainers. Later, after maybe a month, give or take, he would be sent off to live and work with a human officer until his eventually K-9 retirement, after which he would remain a dog but would still be highly honored and would continue living very well by animal standards. All applicants were inevitably transformed into relatively young dogs, so he could potentially live another decade or more, including multiple years after retirement.
Tony realized that canine aging really wasn't something he'd been factoring into his decision. It took a moment to sink in that he would end up dying of old age in his 30s, and that was if he was lucky. He mentally tried to convince himself that it was worth it, and he somewhat succeeded. If his new life was as much better as he hoped it was going to be, then it really wouldn't be fair for it to last forever, would it? Besides, humans had to put up with being old for a lot longer than dogs did, and Tony wasn't sure he wanted to spend decades working no matter what the job was.
After the introductory part of the meeting, they took his clothes and gave him a collar to put on with the name TONY on it. His last name was no longer relevant, and neither was any other part of his original lifestyle. Tony blushed deep while the collar was fastened around his neck, and even more when he was led to another room to meet more facility workers. He truly hadn't expected to be quite this embarrassed! He'd be living the rest of his life mostly naked, and it somehow made it even weirder that no one else seemed to be judging him over it. Sure, most of his old rap lyrics were just about how impressive his prick was anyway, but that was before just anybody was allowed see it! Maybe he'd start feeling a little more comfortable with all this whenever he got his fur coat.
In the the next little room, someone did an examination on him, and recorded every last detail of his human body and health status so they could track the success of his changes over the next week or so. He found out that the weird lump on his right testicle that he never thought about stood a potential chance of being some kind of cancer, but the transformation would likely heal all of his human ailments anyway. He got an erection while he was being examined down there, and he wasn't sure he would ever get used to that happening in front of other people. The employee (nurse? doctor? vet?) just scribbled something down on her pad and kept on going with the examination. He was eventually told that he was slightly overweight, but that his new diet and training regimen would solve that with little difficulty.
When the examination was over, yet another employee hooked a leash to his collar, so he could start getting used to that aspect of being a dog, and held it very gently while leading him into yet another little room.
It turned out this new little room was ...
