Dropping the phone, Alexandra was desperately holding back tears as she toddled back over to the device. Looking it over she doesn't see anything explaining how it works, but she does find a compartment on the front. Gripping the handle and pulling as hard as she could, Alexandra wasn't sure if she had the necessary strength to do it until it suddenly gave.
Stumbling backwards, Alexandra lost her balance and landed hard on her butt. Before she even had a chance to react to that, she found herself drenched as water splashed out of the compartment as it slid out towards her.
Momentarily stunned, Alexandra forgot about the pain before her instinctual to cry kicked it. Instead she simply pushed herself up and looked curiously at the compartment. She could now see that it was some kind of water tank, in an actual dehumidifier that would make sense.
Since this wasn't actually a dehumidifier, she was unsure what it would be for. Sticking her arm in it definitely felt like normal water and there wasn't a chemical smell either.
Since it was still about halfway full after her unexpected shower, she guessed it most have been almost full to begin with. So the water wasn't used up by it running then.
Glancing back towards the machine itself, she could now see wiring and circuit boards with tunes running past. Maybe the water was ran through the tube to keep the device from overheating?
Her attention was once again pulled to the sound of her growling stomach and the increased discomfort from adding sopping wet to her list of problems. Shivering slightly, Alexandra knew unless she could figure this out now she was going to have to take a break to try to get her immediate physical concerns resolved.
