32 year old Mavis Thomas had never, in all her years following Highschool, expected to be in such a predicament in that she’d be interviewing to becoming a mythological creature. But this was actually the most recent of her chain of troubles since having her daughter Jessica.
It had actually started almost 9 years ago now, dating the man who’d impregnated her. Somewhat rich guy’s son who seemed nice and down to earth. Only once Mavis was pregnant just so happened to get engaged to a high-rise store tycoon’s daughter who was more ‘implanted’ breasts and face-lifts obsessed then brains and hard-working.
Complicating matters more was said bride’s father, assuring both weeding sides avoided a scandal spread lies that Mavis, as opposed to being a university graduate in media studies, was a whore that slept her way to success and that Jessica was actually just a side-john’s result Mavis was passing as the groom’s child for money. Results were so bad Mavis and Jessica had to move away and with her educational qualifications in dispute and a child to support had to settle for low-grade and often temp jobs. And after a very recent firing for refusing to do full-time hours with part-time pay was now desperate.
“So having an 8 year old daughter isn’t going to be an issue?” Mavis asked the interviewer. “As we said before we get all kinds here and actually quite a few of our staff are parents. Heck truth be told the apartment we already have setup have a good chunk housing the children and if possible we do allow them to undergo transformations as well” the interviewer explained “That said there are some things those like you need to be aware”.
This scared Mavis a bit so she had to ask “What issues?”. “First is that each race has a minimum age someone needs to be at or over. For example with fairies only those 6 and over can be transformed” the interviewer started “Second, we refuse to force transformations meaning we can postpone yours if your children-”. “Just my daughter. She’s 8” Mavis interrupted “...sorry”. “No I expected only after you made your choice but as I was saying if your daughter refuses to be transformed your transformation we be postponed until you agree to go it alone” the interviewer assured “That said if they do agree then until they reach legal adult age children cannot have their gender altered”. “I see” Mavis accepted.
“So do you have any more questions?” the interviewer asked. “Only over anything I might find in issues with my choice” Mavis confessed. “I see. And that is?” the interviewer pondered:
