They were strolling down the halls when a servant stopped them. He bowed nervously to the Crown Prince and Princess.
“Your highnesses, the King wishes to see you,” he said. Julio and Tassette shared a nervous look. Hopefully Antyny wasn’t about to scold them for having sex before marriage.
“Lead the way,” Julio said. The servant led them towards a small chamber where Antyny would meet with important dignitaries. Julio entered, but Tassette was stopped.
“I apologize, Princess, but the King only wants to speak with your betrothed,” the servant said. Tassette pouted. First she has to stop sex right before coming, now this? She sat on a nearby chair to wait for her husband to be to finish with his meeting. After catching the servant eyeing her enormous bust, Tassette dismissed him.
Inside the room, Julio took a seat in an expensive chair next to Antyny.
“What did you need me for?” Julio asked. Antyny leaned in.
“I was curious if you would be interested in changing which daughter of mine you are betrothed to,” he said. Julio’s eyes widened. Leave his beloved? Why? “I know you specifically requested Tassette, but I think Liira would be a better match.”
Julio couldn’t help but laugh. Liira? Yes, the girl was comely and shapely, but she had a complex from how poorly her sisters treated her. He doubted she had the confidence to be Queen of Estrellia. Unlike Tassette.
“Explain your reasoning, before I outright reject your offer,” Julio said. Antyny’s lips narrowed with displeasure. Luckily, Julio knew the King would not offend nor hurt him. Antyny had sought relations with Estrellia since becoming King. He would not risk what he had worked on for so long.
“Liira is a witch,” Antyny said. “Yes, she may not be as skilled as her sisters, but it is still a power that would help a Queen. Tassette takes after her concubine mother with her lack of magic.”
“Estrellia is a most superstitious kingdom,” Julio said. “I doubt a witch Queen would be viewed positively by my people.”
“All the more reason to wed one. There are witches in your kingdom. Should you not show them you support them?” Antyny said. Julio frowned. Antyny had a point. But his lovely Tassette was so much better than the ditzy, bland Liira.
“Tassette has what it takes to bear and nurse the many children I will need,” he said. “Estrellian Kings have no harems nor wetnurses, so we need Queens with wide hips and large breasts.”
“The octuplets’ mother, Janessa, not only gave birth to eight children at once, but septuplets after she left the harem,” Antyny said. “And since then, she has given birth to twelve more children. She also worked as a wetnurse for many years. Liira may not be as curvaceous as Tassette, but she still has her mother’s capacity for birthing and nursing numerous children.”
“Hmm…” Julio stroked his chin thoughtfully.
“If you do not wish to wed Liira, I understand. But I would like a valid reason for staying with Tassette,” Antyny said, sounding impatient.
