It's the final round at the World Championship Martial Arts Tournament. The contest is simple. Each hit scores the fighter a point and the first to get to three points wins. Any hit that forces the opponent to the ground for more than 3 seconds counts as a knockout and that fighter advances. No kill moves are allowed.
This year it was between the two-year champ from China, simply called Chan and a new American fighter, Michael Rubinsky, who had made it despite being a heavy underdog in each fight.
Chan was muscular and bulky while Mike was skinny and showed very little muscle. Mike did have one advantage though. He was quick on his feet and countered every move that had come his way so far in the contest.
Mike got the first hit in the ribs. It wasn't solid but earned him the point regardless.
The second round didn't fair so well as Mike took a hard blow to the ribs and slumped to the ground. He got up slowly clutching his ribs.
The third round went by quickly as Chan easily landed a punch into his nose. The pain was tough but Mike hadn't come this far to give up now.
In the fourth round they shared a blow to the head which landed Chan on the ground. Mike had won with another surprise victory.
He walked off the tournament floor and headed towards his bag and grabbed a water, but everything was about to change for Mike.
