Max is a 13 year-old boy, he has short blond hair with an undercut style, blue eyes, white skin, freckles around his nose and an athletic body. His personality is normal for a boy, who has just started puberty: rebellious and mischievous, he especially enjoys teasing his little sister Ann, who is 10.
Ann has long smooth blond hair, which reach just below her shoulders, she has green eyes, white skin and freckles around her nose, like Max. She is a slim girl, not to skinny and not to heavy, her body is just like any average 10 year-old girl.
The young girl has just turned 10 a few days ago, no one in her family, not even her mother, is aware of what is going to happen. Since turning 10, Ann felt weird, not sick… she just has this weird feeling that something about her has changed. When she woke on the morning of her birthday, Ann felt a strange tingling all over her body, at first she simply shrugged it off, but as the day progressed, the tingling became more and more intense, it felt as if some strange electric energy was growing inside of her, becoming stronger and stronger. Ann didn’t think much of it, she wasn’t worried, the tingling wasn’t painful, in fact, it actually felt really good, so she decided too not tell anyone about the weird feeling.
What Ann, and everyone in her family, is unaware of is that her great-great grandmother was a powerful witch, but since none of the females in the witches family inherited the limitless and strong power, her great-great grandmother never told anyone her secret, and she took that secret with her to her grave. So, unaware of Ann “gift”, the girl’s life and that of her family continued normal, until one faithful day.
It is two weeks after Ann’s birthday, it is a warm spring afternoon on a Friday, Max arrives home from school, the boy opens the front door and kicks off his shoes, “MOM, DAD, SHRIMP,” he calls, “I’M HOME!”
“I AM NOT A SHRIMP,” he hears Ann calling from upstairs, then he hears small feet coming down the stairs, soon a scowling Ann is standing in front of him, “why are you so mean? I never done anything to deserve being called names!”
Max simply grins, “I know,” he says, “but it’s just fun to tease and annoy you. Where are mom and dad,” he then asks, making his way into the living room.
“They are out,” Ann says, “mom told me, to tell you, to do your homework then order some takeaway. Oh… and you still have to do the lawn and it’s your turn to take out the trash”.
Max grumbles, “as IF I’d listen to an annoying little girl,” he says, “I’ll do my chores whenever I WANT to. Now go and bug someone else and leave me to do my homework!”
Ann clenches her fists, she feels anger building inside of her tiny body, she is sick and tired of her brother treating her like this. The girl feels her hands tingle, but she just assumes that it is due to her clenching them into fists, “you are such a mean brother,” she says.
“Oh… boo-hoo-hoo,” Max says, “get lost, cry-baby!”
That was the last straw for Ann, “CURSE YOU,” she shouts, pointing her finger at her brother as she shouts this, neither of them noticing energy shooting out of the girl’s finger and hitting Max in the chest, “wait till I tell mom!”
“Oooooh… I am soooooo scared,” Max says, rolling his eyes.
Ann gives Max a last hateful glare, she then turns on her heel and storms off.
Max hears her storming up the stairs and soon hears a door slam, “good riddance,” he grumbles, he then focuses his attention on his maths homework, unaware of what is about too happen.
