The beep of a car horn sounded out in the driveway, and Alex eagerly rushed down the stairs and out the door. “Bye, Aunt Hannah! Thanks for your help!” He called out over his shoulder. “Have fun!” She called back. She walked back into her room, and spotted the idol softly glowing. “Oh, I have plans for them tonight.” She said to herself, and giggled.
Alex popped open the passenger side door of the Toyota and slid into the seat, leaning over to give his girlfriend a kiss. He would have driven them to the concert, but his car had needed some serious maintenance, and it was going to be in the shop for the next two days. “Ready for the concert?” He asked as they broke the kiss. “Yeah, I can’t wait!” Sarah said excitedly. “I’ve been looking forward to this for ages—“ she cut herself off abruptly, staring at Alex with a bit of confusion. “What are you wearing?” She asked.
Alex shrugged. “My aunt gave me some clothes. She said they would make me look good for the concert, and you know I’m not really into fashion or anything.” Sarah nodded slowly. “They do look good, it’s just a….different look than I was used to.” She said.
On the drive over, Sarah kept glancing over at Alex’s shirt as they chatted about school and new TV shows which had just come out. Finally, as they began pulling into the parking lot of the concert, Sarah finally said “Alex….I hate to say it, but I’m pretty sure I own that exact top, and those jeans look an awful lot like girl’s jeans. I think your aunt might have messed up.” Alex gaped at her, horrified. “She went on and on about her fashion studies.” He groaned. “I should have known. She’s always been a bit…..out there.”
“Do you want to go back and change?” Sarah asked. Alex frowned. He did….but at this rate, if they went back now they’d miss half the concert. Already the parking spots were filling up rapidly. “I think I can risk it.” He said, brushing a strand of his blond hair away from his face. He’d been meaning to get a haircut for a while; it was almost down to his shoulders by now, but Sarah had said she liked him with longer hair than usual, so he’d kept putting it off. “Let’s just go in. I don’t want to miss the concert.” He told her with a smile.
They got out of the car, and Alex’s phone slipped out of his pocket. He grumbled, trying to cram it back into place. These jean’s front pockets were ridiculous; they barely had enough room for his wallet or his phone, not both. He would have put one in his other pocket, but that one seemed somehow even smaller, with the big, bulky ticket taking up most of it. “Here, why don’t you put your wallet in my purse.” Sarah said, handing him the small bag. “It’ll make things simpler.”
They entered the stadium, and soon were making their way through the crowd. Alex felt a strangle tingling sensation running through his body, like static electricity. Ignoring it, he and Sarah made their way towards a central area. They would have great seats for the show.
The band came on, and went through their first couple songs. To his surprise, Alex found himself really enjoying the music. Before long he found his throat was hoarse from singing along. “Hey babe, I’m going to go get some water. Want some?” He asked Sarah, who nodded, handing him her purse. Alex made his way over to a refreshment stand, but as he opened the purse his wallet wound up popping out and falling to the ground. Grumbling, Alex leaned down to pick it up……
SMACK!
Alex let out a yelp as someone smacked his ass. He spotted a group of laughing guys moving past him further into the crowd, glancing over their shoulders at him. One let out a wolf whistle as he glared at them. Alex swore. When he got back to the house he and his aunt were going to have words about her “fashion sense…”
