No sooner had the words left her mouth, Steph felt intense pain in her whole body, as if she was on-fire. It felt like her very being was being torn asunder. She heard a ripping sound as her shirt and bra fell to the ground as something grew out of her side. When she could see through the pain, she saw an identical (though nude) twin of herself.
"Who are you?" she asked, still holding her head
"I'm Sadie," said the girl, blinking at the light her eyes had never beheld before "What happened? I don't remember much before this. Are you my sister?"
Steph looked to the game "What happened? I thought this was only in the game."
"The energy has to come from somewhere," said the voice of the Game "The energy of your imagination was used to create the character. In order for the character to be grounded, it needed to have an anchor in this world. So I combined some of the energy from my world with your imagination, and DNA, and thus, Sadie was created."
Steph's mind reeled with what the game had said. Everything she said was scientifically impossible. This certainly completely disproved her theory that the game was a shared hallucination.
"What will happen to Sadie when this game is over?" Steph asked, and Sadie turned to the voice of the Game, a hopeful look in her eyes
"She exists now, she cannot be unmade by any power I possess," the voice of the Game said "You are no longer an only child, Steph. Meet your new twin sister."
"Sister?" Sadie said "Does that mean we're family?"
"How do you know what family means, but not sister?" Steph asked, curiously.
"I know some things," said Sadie "But alot of things are fuzzy. Like they're just out of reach. I know we have to go back into this world, though. We need to help someone, but I'm not sure who."
"My friends," said Steph "Or our friends now, I suppose. We need to help them finish this adventure, and get out alive."
Sadie nodded, a look of determination in her eyes. "Let's do it, then."
