"Where...where am I?" the man hoarsely asked, obviously wary. "Who are you?"
You were still dumbfounded by the idea that was running around in your brain. You must have been, otherwise as a woman alone in the woods with a naked man, you should have just grabbed your axe and hacked the guy when he grabbed you. That or you were a little distracted by his body. His very lithe body. You shook your head slightly to clear your thoughts. You weren't that depraved, right?
"You're in my shed," you finally responded shortly, your eyes dropping to where his hand was still clasped around your wrist. While it was obvious he was strong, his grip was actually firm but gentle, holding you there but not intending to harm...yet. Noticing your pointed gaze, he actually released you.
"Sorry..." he trailed off, trying to avoid meeting your eyes, and pulling the blanket over his shoulder slightly. Despite his very tanned skin, there was a bit of redness along his ears. Wait, was he blushing? Although he seemed discomfited, it was obvious he was also trying to keep up his guard against you. Something about his awkward demeanor amused you in spite of yourself, especially considering if your cockamamie theory was correct, he could probably be utterly terrifying.
You really should just tell him to beat it, because god only knows what you were sticking your nose into otherwise. However, if he really was a ---...well, you had brought him here yourself. You should take responsibility, shouldn't you?
"You look like you could use some breakfast," you said easily as you rose to your feet. His eyes narrowed and focused on you as he tensed, but when your words registered, there was confusion in them. "C'mon, I should have some extra clothes around here somewhere." You waved over your shoulder as you headed out the door and towards the cabin entrance.
For a moment he hesitated, but you finally heard him rise to his feet and begin to follow. Just as you were about to turn the corner, you caught sight of him stumbling as he limped after you. As he began to fall, you moved to support him without thinking. Only after you steadied him did you realize you were practically pressed up against a man who was taller and heftier than you and clad only in a blanket.
However, before you could begin to be embarrassed, he gave you such a flustered look that you nearly burst out laughing. Despite his scarred mocha skin, you were certain he was blushing head to toe. Desperately suppressing a smile, you nonchalantly pulled his arm over your shoulder and helped him into the cabin.
"Th--thank you," he stammered out.
"What's your name?" you asked as you lowered him onto a chair and went into the other room.
"Sumit," he finally called out, apparently deciding to trust you.
