"Moving someone this badly wounded is dangerous," said Baal. "Take it from someone who's seen as much war as I have."
"Agreed," said Michael. "I say an angelic doctor is our best bet."
"The conservative faction in the court won't like it," Lucifer sighed. "There's already a record number of angels in the Ninth Circle as it is."
"The idiots in court who can't let go if the rebellion can shove it!" Lilith sniffed, recalling that those same nobles had objected to Lucifer's decision to marry her near the dawn of time. "What's important is saving Rachel's life. Trust your brother on this, please."
"Very well," Lucifer said, bracing himself for the political disaster. "Who do you have in mind, Michael."
"If anyone can save Rachel, it's my fellow archangel Raphael," said Michael. "He's been a master of healing since he invented medicine during the fights against the primordial beasts the inhabited the waters of Chaos before the dawn of time."
"And it really has to be one of the archangels, brother?" Lucifer asked, sweating. "The court will be FURIOUS to have two archangels down here at once."
"The look on their faces should be truly entertaining," Lilith laughed.
"Please say yes," Josh urged. "This is for my sister."
"And my daughter," Atargatis added firmly.
"And my future stepdaughter," Astaroth declared.
"And MY fiancee!" Maisy urged. "Please, Dad, you know you'd move Heaven, Earth, and Hell to make me happy. Well, I'll never be happy again if we can't save Rachel."
"As you wish," Lucifer said with a sad smile. Let his nobles think what the would, but he couldn't break the hearts of his family. "Bring whoever you need, Michael."
"Raphael will want a bodyguard, of course," said Michael. "It's only natural when he'll be surrounded by so many former enemies (some of whom are current enemies in all but name). I nominate Parthenope."
"Who?" asked Josh.
"My wife," said Michael. "You probably know her better as Joan of Arc."
"The one from the Hundred Years' War?!" Josh gasped. "But she was burned at the stake by the English!"
"A flesh puppet of her was burned at the stake by the English," Michael clarified. "I took the actual Joan to Heaven and married her once she became an angel."
"God sent Michael to choose Joan as the one to free France from England's unlawful occupation," Penemue explained. "He fell for her HARD. On the night God sent him to rescue Joan from the English jail, he asked her to marry him. She said yes, was taken to Heaven, became an angel, and took the name 'Parthenope.' It means 'voice of the maiden,' a fitting name for the inspirational Maid of Orleans."
"Not that she's much of a maiden anymore," Lucifer snickered. "She and Michael have given me two nieces and a nephew."
Michael turned to Remeila. "Princess Remeila, send for Archangel Raphael and Lady Parthenope at once. Tell them that they can't delay and that a life hangs in the balance."
"I will," Remeila nodded as she opened a portal.
"Will Raphael mind treating a demon's wounds?" asked Atargatis.
"He'll be fine with it, darling," said Astaroth. "I met Raphael during the peace talks. He values ALL life and was thrilled when peace was made. He's always felt that demons and angels should be friends."
"That's good," Atargatis sighed relieved, burying herself in the comforting softness of Astaroth's nearly naked breasts.
"All we can do now is wait," Lucifer said grimly.
