Kidnapping ... Or not

added by Addicted 7 months ago O

Alexei, his off-sider, Marco and Kurt stood there as 4 police officers from 2 squad cars aimed their guns at them. "Stay where you are! Hands in the air!"

The Russian's calmly raised their hands. They had plenty of interaction with the police and knew in this case that they were not doing anything illegal. Kurt didn't. She had never had a gun pointed at her before. She squealed and cowered. However the homeless man that Alexei had been talking to must have been feeling guilty. He ran pushing past Kurt, causing her to fall to the ground. Unfortunately for Kurt she landed in a puddle of mud.

"Don't bother with him. These are the three we want" said one of the officers as the homeless man ran off. Three officers continued to train guns on the Russians

A police woman went across and helped Kurt from the ground. Kurt was unhurt but her clothes were covered in mud.

"Are you hurt?" she asked.

Kurt shook her head. "I'm fine"

"You're safe now. Stay with me" She took Kurt away from the Russian's back to a squad car.

"What is this about Officer Kendall?" asked Alexei. He knew the officer in charge.

"Kidnapping the girl"

"Kidnapping? No you are mistaken" said Alexei

"She is Ruby Donaldson. Daughter of my business associate. I am taking her home to her parents" said Marco

"And who might you be sir?" asked the officer.

"Marco Sokolov. From Miami. The girl is with me. Look what you caused to happen to her. Her clothes are filthy. Allow me to call her mother. She will vouch that this is no kidnapping"

"Is this true miss? Did these men hurt you?"

"No they did't hurt me"

"Was this man taking you back to your parents?" Kurt had to think. The man Marco had been friendly enough. She had not been kidnapped. His intentions did appear to be honourable. He just didn't know that Kurt was not Ruby. It would be unfair if he was accused of kidnapping.

"He is not a kidnapper. What he says is true"

The officer in charge went back to his car and spoke on his radio. Eventually he returned."We would appreciate if you all accompany us back to the station. We will sort this out"

Kurt was taken in a police car with the police woman. After his identity was checked Marco was allowed to follow in his own vehicle, he wasn't about to be separated from Ruby. Alexei and is henchman also followed. They knew they were guilty of nothing in this instance and needed to not antagonise the local police.

When they arrived at the police station. Marco bought in the clothes he had collected from Selena. He figured the girl would appreciate clean clothes. The police woman took Kurt to a room where she could change while the officers rang Selena and confirmed that Marco had gone to Jacksonville to collect Ruby. Kurt was not particularly impressed with the dress she was given. It was rather feminine, a backless floral slip dress, sent there by Selena to intentionally embarrass her husband. However it was better than the wet muddy outfit she had been wearing.

The officer also notified the female FBI agent who had been into the station earlier, that the girl she had been looking for had been found. Agent Cheryl Dwyer, had just parked outside the club where 'The girl' she suspected was really Nikola Fedorov and been taken to. Hearing the girl was back at the station, she dropped that line of enquiry and headed back as quickly as possible.
