A Game of Change

A scream for help

added by Annonymous 3 months ago O

A few minutes later, Ty hears a scream from the princess. Without thinking, he leapt up, and out of the carriage, the words of a spell already on his lips. The accursed dress caught on the door, causing a painful fall to the ground. He hears laughter from around him, as another arrow buries itself in the wood of the carriage where he would have been standing had he still been upright. Trying to untangle the dress from the door, Ty began to push himself to his feet, hearing a ripping sound. The bandits laughed and several wolf whistled, as the dress ripped, revealing skin in several places.

Planting his feet, Ty looked around. The princess was bound with ropes, to a tree, disarmed, gagged and the carriage was surrounded by bandits. Mostly human, but there were a few half orcs and kobolds in their number. With his dignity pretty much ruined, Ty began his first spell. While a Fireball would have been the best spell to use in order to take out the clustered together bandits, that spell would also have set much of the forest ablaze. Instead, he cast a spell known as Tongue of Lightning, which seemed to be able to curve around corners and trees, harming only the bandits.

Ty's mouth opened, and his tongue, now made of lightning, emerged, shooting towards the first bandit. The lightning speared through him, and the bandits near him, before curving around the tree where the princess was trapped, and spearing four more bandits. Having reached it's maximum range, the tongue retracted into his mouth. A coppery taste lingered in his mouth as his tongue returned. The bandits, somehow held up by the non-physical tongue of lightning, fell to the ground, twitching, before lying still. Ty turned to the other side, but as he did, he heard another tearing sound, and the dress fell around his ankles, leaving him naked. Carefully stepping out of the torn fabric, Ty took cover behind the carriage, looking towards the bandits on the other side of the road.

Several arrows thunked into the wood of the carriage. Some very close to where Ty had taken cover, but none actually hit him. Ty stood up, and cast a second Tongue of Lightning, taking out the remaining bandits. The spell was suspiciously powerful. He'd have to look it up later. Staying on-guard, he looked around for anymore bandits, before breathing a sigh of relief. He approached the princess, taking note of the way he was walking, which was also different than before. Swaying hips in an almost seductive fashion. Was this just how women walked?

On reaching the princess, Ty looked around for her dagger, or another way to cut her free. He found the dagger, and began cutting the ropes, then removed the gag, only then realizing how red-faced the princess was.
"I'm sorry I'm taking so long," Ty said "Please don't be angry."
"I'm not angry," the princess said "I'm..."
