Erica set up her camp. She had hunted a few rabbits, which was an exercise in frustration due to the lack of weapons. Now, with firewood gathered, she had just rubbed together two stones to make a spark before she realized she shouldn't know how to do any of this. She supposed she would have to get used to knowledge just spontaneously appearing in her head. Images of her with her lips around a half-orc's girth made her shudder. She didn't really know who she was yet, but she knew she certainly wasn't straight. Not completely, anyway, she amended, considering the wave of pleasure she had felt that had been her introduction into this strange world.
As she was beginning to cook the rabbits, she heard the clopping of hooves, and the rolling of a wagon wheel. Then, a female voice called from the road.
"Hail, traveller! My name is Mika. May I share your fire this evening?"
"Erica," Erica replied, as she stepped out of the forest. Mika was a tall woman with bronze metallic skin and wings "I would be willing to accept sharing of my fire. What do you offer in return?"
"Excuse me for my presumption," said Mika "But is that a slave collar? If you wish, I have tools that could remove it. I also have some clothing that would hold up better than those rags. If you allow me to sleep beside your fire, and give me a little of those rabbits to eat, in return, I will give you those clothes, and remove the collar if it is within my power to do this. Are these acceptable terms?"
"They are," Erica said "Perhaps you can show me these clothes first, so that I can change, and then we can both sit by the fire while you try to remove the collar. And perhaps tell me a little about yourself? In exchange, I can tell you a little about me?"
"Very well," Mika led Erica into the cart.
As Erica followed the strange merchant, information appeared in her head. This woman was a Justice. A cousin race of angels. Originally created in order to enforce the laws put down by the angels, as well as to act as go betweens between angels and mortals. A small colony of them earned their independence of the angels, and now operate independently on this plane. The majority of the race retain some of their honourable traits from their time working for the angels, and making and keeping to deals and agreements are in their nature.
