Another female figure approached. Rachel wondered if she could be related to Astaroth. Like Astaroth, this beautiful demoness had an unusual amount of angelic traits for a demon. Beautiful fire-red hair, which turned out to be actual fire, swayed behind her as she walked forward. Four pairs of wings also made of fire were folded up behind her back as she sat down. She wore a pale red tunic that looked straight out of ancient Greece.
"Rachel, meet my third daughter Ammit Morningstar," said Lucifer. "She's in charge of imprisoning newly arrived souls. Every prison cell and torture chamber in Hell ultimately answers to her."
"On that note, I have some bad news for you," said Ammit. "Rev. Hank Cromwell has escaped from his holding cell."
"WHAT?!!" Lucifer thundered. "Baal didn't tell me that when he asked me to fetch Penemue!"
"Well, it's true," sighed Ammit. "Worse, there's no clue as to how he did it. The door's still locked, the walls are intact, the floor hasn't been tunneled into. He's just... gone."
Lucifer clutched at his horns in frustration. "This Iron Knight business is just one headache after another! I hope you and Immundus can get to the bottom of this."
Immundus was the husband of Ammit and the oldest son of Beelzebub, who was seen as a disappointment by his father for being to willing to take orders from Ammit and treat her like a partner. For her part, Ammit and her husband both hated Beelzebub which, was one of the reasons they came together in the first place.
"We will," said Ammit, "and Beelzebub will pay for his role in this."
"Don't accuse your father-in-law," Lucifer said sternly. "This is Cruciata's doing."
"Do you really think my sister-in-law would kill her own fiancee?" Ammit asked skeptically.
"No, but I think she may have lost control of the Chaos entity she conjured to kill Lady Tenebra," Lucifer countered.
"My sister-in-law always did leap without looking first..." Ammit mused. "I suppose that would be possible... but Immundus and I won't know until we investigate."
"Whatever you find, find it fast," Maisy begged. "I just want Rachel to stay safe."
