“Let’s hear what Vanessa thinks!” Angie suggested.
“What do you mean?” Chloe asked.
Angie went back to the Chronivac, with Chloe following. They both saw a profile for the doll that was once their friend. Angie skimmed through the information, before landing on one specific aspect; communication.
She instructed, “Change it so that she can talk.”
“Wait,” Chloe warned, “If she could talk, then she could tell your parents what we did.”
“Good point,” Angie said, before selecting the option to edit her communication abilities, “Wait, we can make it so that only we can hear her!”
The girl set it as so, and finalized the process. After a couple seconds, a voice telepathically filled both Chloe’s and Angie’s heads.
“Help!” it called.
It was Vanessa’s. The girls both bolted back to the dollhouse to meet their friend.
“It worked!” Chloe celebrated, “We can hear her!”
“You can?” Vanessa said, “Turn me back right now!”
“Do you promise not to tell mom?” Angie asked.
Vanessa paused for a second and replied, “Yes,” in an insincere tone.
“She’s going to tell your mom,” Chloe said.
“I’m not!” Vanessa retorted.
“Sorry,” Angie apologized, “We don’t believe you’ll keep it a secret.”
“So you’re staying as a doll,” Chloe added.
“WHAT!?” Vanessa angrily shouted, although only the girls could hear it, “Turn me back… RIGHT! NOW!”
“Please don’t be mad, Ness,” Angie pleaded.
“Don’t be mad? You’re keeping me as a doll!” Vanessa yelled.
“She sure is being babyish,” Chloe snickered, “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”
Angie raised an eyebrow in confusion.
