Connors first date story

added by O 2 months ago O Mythological

Calista studied her companions, sizing up them up as they now journeyed into the forest. A chubby teenage girl and her introverted girlfriend. A young federal agent and finally the son of a family of renowned demon hunters. "I don't know if they're ready for this," she mused. Approaching Connor, the fairy now tried to gain as much information as possible.

"So are you the hunter in the family?"

"No," Connor replied shaking his head. "When dad retired Caleb took up the mantle. I've just been helping while he's away at school." Calista nodded, surprised by this bit of information. Connor certainly carried himself with confidence and she had met younger hunters in the past. Still, considering the bond he and Spark shared it was a bit of a surprise.

"I'm a bit surprised to hear that," she said. "I know Spark wanted to work as a guardian. Considering the bond you two share I would of thought you were the hunter." Connor blushed, thanking Calista as they moved forward. "If you don't mind me asking just how long have you known Spark?"

"All my life I guess," Connor shrugged. "She my and dad worked closely for years. She even helped us out in a few school projects when we were little. Acting as Tinkerbell in our school play." Calista laughed, finding the idea of her old friend dressed as the infamous Tinkerbell hilarious. "I'm sure she was really happy about that one."

"She said the costume itched," Connor blushed. Calista simply smiled, gazing at the teenage boy with interest. The boy was rather handsome in a juvenile way but, there was more to him. A kindness maybe. Perhaps a compassionate side that drew Spark to him. Regardless she wanted to know more. "So how is it you ended up performing the Rite of Spring with Spark?"

"Still not quite sure," Connor shrugged. "We were on our second date.."

"Second date," Calista exclaimed. Connor nodded, a small smirk crossing his face as he explained his and Sparks first date together.

Following Jacob Morelands injuries, the Moreland boys and Spark were feeling despondent. Caleb and Connor almost lost their father and Spark felt like she had failed as a partner. Caleb had already assumed the mantle of hunter, going so far as to take the vow making Spark his official partner. Calista found that to be very touching, realizing how much it meant to Spark for Caleb to continue their partnership. Still, the thought of what lay ahead was troubling. This was how Caleb's girlfriend Gloria got involved.

"Wait she cast a spell making Spark human," Calista gasped. "Temporarily," Connor said quickly. "And it was only so she could spend the day with us when we went to the arcade." Calista now listened as Connor told the rest of their first date story.

For Connor, it was love at first sight. Spark, in human form, wasn't like other teens. She had an almost punk rock look to her with green hair and tomboyish mannerisms. Almost immediately Connor felt himself tongue tied as he gazed at the waifish teenage beauty, his nervousness only magnified as Spark began unintentionally flirting with him as they played various arcade games. Calista of course laughed as she listened.

"That sounds like Spark," she chuckled. "When we were in school she was a bit of a flirt and kinda clueless too. Not to mention super competitive. " Connor laughed, nodding in agreement as he continued his story.

After some initial awkwardness, things began to settle down. The pair enjoying themselves, playing games, having some pictures taken, even enjoying a slushie. Before the spell ended, Connor worked up enough courage to ask Spark if she would go to a school dance with him.

"I'm surprised to hear that Connor," Calista stated in awe. "I didn't think humans were aware of the Rite of Spring. To take that big of a step after only one date!"

"I wasn't aware," Connor blushed. "It was actually a school dance." Calistas jaw dropped, realizing the implications of what Connor was saying. "Are you telling me you performed the Rite of Spring by accident!"

"Kind of," Connor blushed. Calista simply gawked as the teenage hunter continued his story.

The couple arrived at the dance, looking to enjoy an evening of fun. Spark, of course, immediately discovered the snack table; gorging herself on soda and snacks. Eventually the pair started dancing, until a slow song began to echo through the gym. It was at that moment the pair began a slow dance as they awkwardly looked into eachothers eyes. "After that Spark and I just, well, felt different. Like we were meant to be together."

"Because you now are," Calista smiled. "I'm sure you already know. Once a fairy performs the Rite of Spring their soul bonds with their dance partner."

"Yeah," Connor replied sheepishly. "Its also why she only just turned 16."

"A small sacrifice," Calista chuckled. "Trust me on this. Once a fairy finds a soul to bond with in love, it doesn't matter if their Sixteen, Sixty, or even Six." Connor simply nodded as the group moved further into the woods. When this was over maybe he and Spark could catch up further with Calista. For now though, they needed to be careful.
