Noah's body seemed to shimmer as Shannon looked at him inquisitively, she could not smell his scent this entire time, something her wolf side was getting increasingly worried about. Like a heat mirage his form seamed to waver more and more before finally clearing to reveal something entirely different, instead of the cute tween boy she had fallen for, a human looking dragon stood in his place, he had sapphire blue scales with a strong tail and spines and spikes all over his tail, his body looked lean and power as before, his face hand a slender muzzle that while not a wolf muzzle looked cute. Her eyes trailed down to his crotch, she had never seen a boy naked before, just in the text books in health class, but she saw a weird looking slit where she thought his penis should be. However something that looked slightly pointed and sapphire peeked out ever so slightly from the slit, while two orbs bulged out from the area around the slit, she wondered briefly if his boyhood was all hidden inside his body.
"You look... so cool." She reached out with a furry paw to touch him before taking a step back. Her mind slowly taking the whole situation in, for weeks she had dreamed about him being a werewolf, running by her side, howling at the moon together, kissing together under the moon, leading the pack together. Suddenly those dreams were dashed. Her heart sank, tears rolling down her muzzle as her ears folded down and her tail ran between her legs. "I just thought.. never mind." She wiped her nose with her furry paw.
"Noah now belongs here with his own kind as you can see, so the choice is clear." The voice boomed again.
Shannon shook her head and turned back to Noah, slowly walking toward the boy. "I want him to look me in the eyes." She got close to him, still not able to smell his scent. "I want him to tell me that he wants to stay here and be a dragon." She took in a deep breath, her heart pounding.
"I.." Noah began.

"I don't, I don't want to be away from any of you! I just want to go home! With you!" Noah pleaded, pulling away from the stranger, he felt the air shimmer around him as tears dripped down his snout, they began to come quick and fast and soon he was sobbing.
"Oh my poor child." The stranger, the one that was also his dragon mother cooed as she transformed back to her natural dragon form and away from the false Shannon form she had assumed, she softly stroked his face. "You did what was required." She ran her forked tongue over his snout, cleaning the tears from his eyes.
"I don't want you!" Noah hissed, his eyes narrowing. "I want her!"

"I...." Noah paused for a moment, frozen, seeming deep in thought, his mouth hanging open before finally blinking. "I do want to stay here." He announced to Shannon causing her heart to drop again.
"Do you accept his decision?" The voice asked again, it was getting frustrating the wolf in Shannon wanted to find the voice and rip it's throat out.
Her fur bristled a bit and she clinched her paws, turning her back on Noah to face the mountain top where the voice echoed from. "I am not his parent, and I am not his Alpha, if he wants to make that choice, then I respect it!" She replied with tears dripping down her muzzle. The stranger seemed to return, standing at Noah's side, placing a hand on his scaly wing.
"The choice has been made, for the protection of my kind, Noah will stay with us for one year." The mountain top began to rumble as the top surface rose, rocks and snow began to shake loose as a massive dragon rose from it's peek. "The test is now over."
Shannon sighed and returned to Noah, wiping her eyes. "I guess this is goodbye," She frowned taking his scaly hands into her paws. "I'm going to miss you calling me 'boy' everyday" She sniffled.
Noah cocked his head while looking at her, his draconic face a mixture of confusion as the stranger walked toward them and tugged Shannon's arm away. "WAIT!" Shannon screamed, slashing across the stranger's face in anger. "That isn't Noah! That isn't Noah! What did you do with Noah! Where is Noah!" She howled in anger.
