It all started when “The Nerds”, tired of being called irrelevant by popular cliques, developed a piece of tech called the “Nerd-Ray” that allowed them to transform students physically and mentally into nerdy people like themselves. Soon, other smaller, less popular cliques developed their own transformation ways like the Nerds to increase their own numbers. These cliques mutually agreed among themselves to only transform “Nomads” (Students who didn’t have a clique) and not each other.
However, this peace didn’t last long as the popular cliques like the Jocks and Cheerleaders began to notice the abnormal amount of nerds, goths and other niche archetypes on campus and soon began to develop their own transformation ways in order to maintain the “Clique Chain”. Tensions continued to rise until one fateful day when a Jock transformed a Nerd, breaking the agreement kept between cliques. Now all-out war has broken out at Poncingtons where every moment not spent in class is now spent fighting for your clique’s ultimate supremacy. As such, every clique now has their own method to transform others. “Nomads” are now extinct on campus, having all been absorbed into a different clique. Now if a clique wanted new members, aside from attacking and raiding another clique, they’d have to rely on the new Freshmen each year.
But what cliques are there at Poncingtons?
At the top of the “Clique Chain” are the biggest clique “The Jocks”, the only all-male clique on campus. Their method of transformation involves a football jersey where once a user wears it, they transform into a strong, muscular man with a fixation on sports and working out with their bros. The Jocks have no ulterior motives except growing their ranks in order to maintain their spot at the top of the social hierarchy.
Next are “The Popular Girls/Cheerleaders” who can transform others with a simple kiss of their lips. When they kiss someone, their body and soul completely change into that of an attractive girl with a love of fashion, cheerleading, gossiping and a slightly bitchy attitude. They are one of two all-girl cliques on campus and hold a strong alliance with the Jocks, sharing their goal of maintaining their places at the top of the chain. However, there are some girls within the clique who secretly wish to overthrow the Jocks and create an ultra-feminine paradise on campus.
A little further down the Clique Chain are the Party Guys & Girls. Much like the party animals they are, this clique’s goal is to end the clique chain and turn the entirety of Poncingtons into one giant party. Their method for doing so is with a special pill that when placed into a drink, would cause the drinker to transform into a wild partyer who only cares about drinking, having sex and enjoying themselves. The pill has two versions; a pink pill that transforms the drinker into a female partyer and a blue pill that transforms the drinker into a male partyer.
Towards the bottom of the chain are The Nerds, the clique that started this whole mess. Their transformation method is called the “Nerd-Ray” where one blast from it transforms the victim into a plain, average looking person with a shy personality and a love for computers, school work and all other nerdy things. The number of nerds has unfortunately dwindled since the start of the war as many just don’t have the strength to fight back. Right now, the clique is focused on regaining more troops, rather than outright win.
Next are The Goths, another bottom-chain clique and the only other all-female one. The Goths are very secretive and keep to themselves, preferring to play the long game in their quest to win the war and transform everyone on campus into goth girls. Thanks to their love of the occult, the Goths have taught themselves arcane magic, which they use to transform their victims into girls with a strong preference for black clothes, fishnets and the supernatural.
They hold an uneasy alliance with The Punks, a relatively small group that sits near the midsection of the Clique Chains. Punks are pure anarchists in the clique war, choosing to transform members of other cliques just for fun rather than have the ultimate goal of winning. To transform their victims, the Punks have them wear an enchanted leather jacket. Once worn, the wearer transforms into a rebellious student, one that has an affinity for tattoos, spiked collars and loud hair colors.
Lastly, there are “The Teachers”, who act as a pseudo police force, ensuring students who were taking part in the war were still attending their classes. However, that mindset quickly changed when cliques began transforming professors, forcing the Teachers to join the war and rebuild their staff numbers. The Teachers opt to transform others with their “Deathly Stare”, where anyone caught in their gaze ages up into an adult with a mature mind and desire to teach. A gender change may happen too if a teacher chooses to enact one.
