"That you and me gal can talk, but just us two, not wantin' folks thinkin' ya are some amazin' talkin' horse now, do we?"
I said this, still strokin' her body, and then got mah phone out and looked at the settings. I saw an option called "animal whisperer" in the chronivac. When I clicked it, this here description came up: "Select a person or thing nearby to be able to talk to it/them, Only the profile owner and the selected person can talk, but no one else will be able to understand or hear what you selected but you."
I reckon I was mighty surprised by how dang easy it was to find. It was downright perfect, so I selected it and then activated the change. And... nothin' happened.
I said, "Howdy Star... Jeff, y'all understand me?" But Star just stood there lookin' at me. Then I heard, "Ken, can you hear me?" in my head?
But then it hit me, and I couldn't believe it, and said, "Yessir, yessir, I can. I can hear ya! Good golly, I can actually talk to ya!" I exclaimed, hittin' mah hat on mah leg.
Then Star said, "God, why did you make yourself talk like that? It's kind of annoying. And this is odd. It's like I have to think to talk and then think about what to say at the same time to communicate with you?"
I didn't take too kindly to her findin' mah new accent annoyin', and I was wonderin' if she still recalled bein' Jeff. So I asked, "Hey, I like mah new voice, and it suits mah new body. And Star, do ya remember... well, not bein' Star?"
She looked like she was thinkin', and then I heard her say, "Well, I don't understand you with that voice. It's hard to understand, and you sound like you couldn't do 1+1. Yes, I am still Jeff in here, but I kind of like being Star. And... I feel good as a horse, and I've been trying to say that I want to learn to be ridden on. But it would be nice if you didn't sound like a spoiled brat."
I sighed, mighty frustrated with Jeff/Star's downright rudeness, and I declared, "Well, I ain't fixin' to get rid of this accent, and I sure don't cotton to you talkin' to me like that, girl. You're s'posed to be my horse, so you best be a good girl while I take you out to git you used to them there trainin' grounds and git the saddle and bit all set up so you can get used to 'em. On you"
I started gettin' her ready while askin' her how she liked bein' a horse and such. I heard her sayin' how nice and calmin' it was to stand there eatin' hay. But when I got to puttin' a bit in her mouth, well, let's just say Star didn't take to it kindly. and She said, "What are you doing, trying to put that metal in my mouth? Get it away from me!"
I sighed, reckonin', "Here we go, Jeff is comin' out of her." I said, "Gal, this here's what horses have. It helps me turn y'all and control y'all. So open up now and be a good horse!" I could see she warn't gonna listen, so I forced it into her mouth while standin' on the stall and quickly clippin' it on her headcollar. I smiled, managin' to do it, knowin' she'd get used to it. But then I heard her hollerin', “WHAT THE HELL, KEN? This is horrible! Get this out of my mouth now!"
I jes't said, "Na, I ain't doin' that. Y'all are a horse, and y'all gonna have to git used to this in yer mouth and be a good horse now!" I grabbed her leash and started to guide her outside to the trainin' field, showin' how the bit lets me make her let me guide her wherever I want.
And she just said, "Stop! I feel like a puppet. I can't stop walking and turn where I want to go! With it hurting my mouth if I try!"
I jes't smiled at this an' said, "Well, y'all are ma horse now, so y'all gonna have this ev'ry day now, an'd ya'll be fine with it in a week or two."
I moved her to a stall where I could mount the saddle 'an climb up. On to the saddle Knowin' she might buck, an' with her bein' mostly twice the size as me, she could really hurt me if she does, an' knowin' if she does, I'm gonna use the chronivac on her. I don't know how yet, but i'll probably make her easier to ride, or somethin'!"
But now Ah'm sittin' on her, gettin' used to bein' so high up on this big ol' horse, when all of a sudden, I started to feel some movement. She started to...
