"Lady Shizen a moment!"
Darren and the others now turned, surprised as an angry looking Matt the Dragon King, along with Tiamat now approached. Standing nearby, Darren could clearly see an obviously injured Tricia, the Dragon Queen sporting several bandages on her human body. "Matt," Shizen smiled. "It is good to see you. I have good news, Morgan has been taken into custody. We shall keep her imprisoned for the foreseeable future."
"That is not why we are here Shizen," Tiamat growled, the celestial kitsune now raising a furry eyebrow as she studied the Dragon God. Although in human form, Darren could sense the divine energy radiating from her. Tiamats power, as far as Darren could tell, rivaled Shizen herself. "Tell me Tiamat," Shizen asked. "Why have you come to visit my home?"
"Him," Tiamat snarled, the womans clawed finger now pointing directly at Raiden. "That child attacked my daughter in law! I want, no, I DEMAND vengeance!"
Raiden now shrunk behind his father, the kit terrified by an obviously enraged royal dragon family. Fukushu now growled, the nine tail unsheathing his sword as he looked to defend his son. Darren now anxiously looked at all parties. After, avoiding a confrontation with Aiko and the Yakuza it appeared he would now have to broker a peace between the Dragons and the Kitsune. Turning towards Shizen, the teen was surprised. Shizen remained unmoved by the Dragons threats. "I see," she said softly. "And may I ask why you seek revenge on my grandson?"
"His reckless actions nearly killed my wife," Matt stated. "The boy must face punishment." As Shizen nodded, Darren began to notice something odd. Birds were now beginning to settle on buildings, Darren at first believing it to be a random occurrence. Perhaps the birds simply deciding to rest. Slowly though, he began to realize this was not a random event.
More birds began to land, Darren noticing these birds now appeared to be glaring at the royal dragon family. Were the birds being summoned by someone? Eventually Darren noticed every square inch of every roof was now covered with birds of various sizes. All glaring at the Dragons.
"Vengeance you say," Shizen said softly. "Vengeance on a child who believed his mother had died. Killed by the very wife you now come to defend?"
"She didn't harm Abolith," Matt stated. "And the injuries were accidental."
"As was Raidens attack," Shizen countered, her voice still melodic and calm despite the threat to her grandson. Tiamat now stepped forward, the Dragon goddesss eyes now turning a violent red as she stood eye to eye with the kitsune. "Do not try to to interfere Shizen," she snarled. "Our people are owed justice."
"Your people are owed justice," Shizen asked. Now Darren noticed storm clouds beginning to form in the skies above. Slowly but, surely black clouds filtered over the horizon, a faint sound of thunder now echoing through the town. "Is that what you think? An accidental attack on your queen by a frightend child and you believe you are owed something?"
Darren now noticed a stern look cross the celestial kitsunes face. For the first time, Darren understood just how powerful a celestial could be. The kitsunes eyes glowed, Darren swearing he could see lightning swirling in her dark brown eyes. The dander on the red vixen now standing on end as she glared at Tiamat.
"Allow me to explain what MY people are owed," Shizen replied, her voice still soft yet somehow foreboding. "My people have lost more than any of the other families. The wars against all of us in defense of the realms has taken our men, our women, our children, MY husband! We have shed far more blood than any family and yet you wish for more? From not only my grandchild but from the future leader of our people."
Tiamat and the other Dragons were silent, the celestial kitsunes raw power washing over them. As powerful as they were, even their godly power paled in comparison to to an angry kitsune goddess. "Shizen," Matt said softly. "Perhaps we reacted rashly."
"Perhaps you did," Shizen replied, her voice cold. Raiden now poked his head out from behind his father, the kit still fearful of being punished. "I'm sorry sir," he said meekly.
"There see," Shizen smiled. "The boy apologized. I think that will be sufficient, don't you Tiamat?" As Shizen glared at Tiamat, the Dragon goddess took a moment to take in her surroundings. The celestial kitsune had put on an incredible display of power, summoning forth the forces of nature in defense of her grandson and future heir. "Yes Shizen I think that will suffice."
A smile now spread across the kitsunes face, the celestial nine tail now beckoning her guests forward as if nothing had happened. As Darren and the others now watched them depart, he now found himself thankful to be on Shizens good side.
